Clug hasn't played wing since about round 3 this year - been a pure onballer. His season wasn't quite good enough for it but would have been very funny if the AA selectors had picked him on the wing this year after he basically stopped playing there.

Kudos to our recruiting, development and Max for the way he’s come on this year. Watching him today I’ve no doubt he’ll play Saturday but in or out, win or lose he can consider himself a big cog in this wheel getting us to where we are and where we’re going in the next decade.

This dude is a massive part of the reason how our gameplan has moved on from the pedestrian ball movement we've been cursed with the past 10years.. Its an infectious gamestyle and I've seen alot of familiar faces at the footy this year i've not seen in along time. Max has fast become my favourite cats player and would be shattered if the guy missed this chance at the big dance.

How good is it to compare the kid from last year who got nervous any time he was near the goals with the guy that just calmly went back after the siren in the first quarter and never looked like missing the tricky snap.

Also some of his work with clean hands and smart body use like that first mark was really impressive.

He's a freak athlete and his running power will always be his strength but he's got great footy smarts, ball winning ability and really knows where to run too. Turning into an absolute jet.

Guthrie's been a great player the last 3 years and was decent very early days in defence. 2015-2019 his output and impact was lower than Holmes this year. In his peak years.

I made the infamous comment of 'Dangerfield with better kicking', after watching his first 3 BOG VFL games and seeing his scope for improvement throughout last year - and nothing has dissuaded me from that notion yet (no matter how ridiculous it might seem to some).

Kid will be elite, and is already showing signs of just how high his ceiling is - given he's been the highest rated wingman in the comp for the past 2 months, at just 20 years old.

I was the same from his first VFL game, he did things that just said we have something special here
