MCC Membership

Hey all. Long time stalker, first time poster.
Lifelong member and got a bit of a long shot question. Is anyone on here an MCC member or knows of someone who is that would be willing to sign a form nominating a follow North man?
Been wanting to put my name down for ages but never actually made any effort towards it. I know I’ll probs be waiting for the next 20 years, but it would be appreciated if anyone could help me out.

At the MCG we play 1 maybe 2 times a year if we're lucky. Unless you're a Cricket/Soccer fan....why would you bother getting an MCC membership

I love my club but I also love the game and the history of the MCG. Would love the option of going to go see big games and a chance to buy finals tickets my teams not playing in.
I also got a few mates from work who a provisional members, don’t want to have to wait for them to become full members just to get my name down on a waiting list.

Precisely why I haven't bothered for so many years. One to two games of footy and a day at the cricket doesn't give me $600 value, let alone value for the whole family. I figure the kids will be going to school with future full MCC Members and can go as guests if they wish down the track. I already cover AFL Memberships, North Memberships and Centre Wing Memberships for Marvel Dome and cannot see the value in the additional coin for MCC. If we were a tenant I may have done it long ago.

MCG is not great value for North supporters nowadays. If you were keen on the odd neutral game though and happy to go to most finals in Melbourne you could easily get your money's worth out of it.

Precisely how we justify our AFL Memberships each year hilly, having held them since the late 70's when they were great value (through to us leaving The 'G). We question them each and every year nowadays come fees payment time.

The couple of times I’ve been into the MCC have been outstanding. I love it.
Sure, living in QLD I don’t get much out of it but one day it will get me into Lords and that will be worth it!
My AFL membership costs twice as much and I get just as much use from it. Actually if money ever gets tight, the AFL will be first to go. Of course I will keep a North membership

Ever been to the MCC? If so, you'd have noticed a sh*tload of officious looking types in blue blazers with MCC logos. When the revolution comes, it's their job to take a bullet for members (voting members only, not lowly restricteds or provisionals). After taking said bullet, they'll then eject the perpetrator for having inappropriate footwear and not wearing a collared shirt.

I've long held the view that it's the world's least exclusive "exclusive" club.

Basically everyone in Melbourne is no more than two degrees of separation from the two signatures required to nominate. Then all you need to do is wait 20+ years and you're in.

It is quite funny to observe those members who take themselves far too seriously and think that they're breathing rarified air by virtue of their membership. Usually they're Demons supporters.

****, I hope so. As my $600+ a year isn't getting much North love, those guys in the blazers better jump in front of those restricted commoners, I certainly don't want to be spilling my full strength schooner glass.
