McVeigh Shaping up

Sounds like your in love with him dude, not that theres anything wrong with that sort of thing.. But really, he held his spot well today for one of the first times this season, 1 out of 15 is nothing to cream yourself over.. Perhaps his been taking some advice from this board, he was definately going for the ball alot harder today, and his kicking was much better. Anyway i think the critism is more out of frustration, his been in the system for long enough now not to have to rely on his teamates to play well for him to lift his own game, we all know his got talent, but hes just been puncing around all year..

He did have a good game today,seems like he was playing a bit further forward
this week. Dunno about this Cape stuff,he is starting to find his way,his cape
would hinder him if it flapped about his face all the time!! Possibly its a sort of
Batman thing. One minute its McVEIGHMAN,and the next its mild mannered
Bruce Mcveigh.

He doesn't do himself any favours when he misses set shots like today. That one he missed resulted in a 2 goal turnaround as Carlton went straight from the kick in to a goal. Sure plenty of players miss set shots but he and Bolton make an art of it.

if he can hold his place in the 22 AND help get us deep into the finals, he'll have performed his own miracle esCAPE....but if it all goes wrong, he might end up being my own personal sCAPEgoat

I am going to say exactly what I said before. He is a front-runner. When we are playing well, he players a lot better.

His last couple of weeks have been OK, lets see if he can keep it up.

I am not AGAINST any player, I just want the best for my club.

and yes, next week has told the tale. McV was one of our best against WCE, and he wasnt carried by the team. When he chased down Glass and won holding the ball, I cheered. Notice that the caped one has played well ever since this thread was started 3 weeks ago.

yes yes, i've made mention on another thread, but mcveigh was one of our best (i think it was hurn he ran down), he actually ran through lines, looked as good with the ball as i've ever seen him, he was very important...if only he could kick for goal...but then, he's not robinson crusoe there
if he continues on this path, i'd even be happy to see him as cape-tain material...ahh hee hee hee......

Probably the best game he has played as a midfielder for the Swans. Disposal sloppy at stages but was in the right position most time, and made some crucial clearances.

Youre right Rancid, it was Hurn, and yes (Snappy) his assist to Leo was fine too. maybe he's been reading this thread. Good to see we are all one happy family again on the McV issue, at least this week. I'm all warm and fuzzy.

i'll fee lot warmer and fuzzier if and when we get through the next four weeks with four wins, before we play the pies and the hawks....we're playing our best footy of a decidedly underwhelming season, and maybe mcveigh is finally biting the bullet and taking that next step...god knows, kirky needs some help
