How good is this bloke by foot? he could hit a target a mile away. The media use to rip into him over here because he'd always go via foot rather than the handball but I reckon I'd prefer to receive a 20m kick than a 20m handball.

Heard him on 6pr too. He is rather homesick but doesn't mind the lack of attention he gets over there. Hopefully he can kick a few bags this season as he is probably my favourite player outside Freo.

Just wasn't built for WA footy unfortunately.
 
Doesn't mind the odd clanger and brain fade but was solid today. Also loved his tackling and pressure.

i think hes the type of player that would make malthouse go mental. im sure mick has moulded him into a way more responsible player. hes lowered the amount of brain fades and seems to be doing well.

with thomas, didak, davis and medhurst...the pies look very dangerous and creative.

thomas was all class today, love watching him play.
 
he is also sharing the ball alot more.. that kick to tarkyn lockyer in the first quarter? was sheer brilliance just a pitty that tarkyn couldnt finish it off he will be a standout this year..
and for those that said he is not a fantasy football player.. pfft lol
123 in supercoach and 91 in dreamteam..
and also he laid 6 tackles which is outstanding for anyone let alone a forward imo.

I like the fact that he sometimes throws the game plan out the window it seems.

Footy is so tactical and run on plays, that sometimes when a player like Medhurst takes a mark 60 out and acts on instinct just getting the ball forward it catches players out, and we saw it happen when Rocca got a free kick when Grover fell into his back because of a quick Medhurst kick.

He has become a very important part of our structure.

you know as well as us that after he takes amrk he marks it on the ground he wasnt going anywhere was medders
 
He's continuing his 07 finals form, good to see as i have a soft spot for him.
Also fantastic to here Magpie fans getting behind him in this thread. Go Medders !!

he had actually spot to make the mark in fact he as in the act of tearing the turf with his boot, who ever it was over reacted quite badly.

Medders kicking on the run doesnt come into it here
 
All Medhurst did was point to the mark. I think he knew that everyone at Freo knew he likes to play on quickly so he pointed to the mark suddenly and quickly and the quick movement set off something in the Freo player's head. Even if you actually feign a handball, kick or run it's not play on unless he actually goes off the mark or disposes of the ball AND when the umpire blows the whistle.
