THE fine print on Justin Leppitsch’s new contract was thrashed out at Brisbane’s board meeting last night.
The one-year extension just needs to be signed-off on by football director Leigh Matthew when he returns from overseas in the coming days and the announcement will be made — probably within a week
The Lions are coming off a three-win season and once again lost some disgruntled players.
Otherwise I think the article stacks up pretty well.Leppa one year deal agreed on.
If only Hammo could count, or look up the ladder, or just try to research.

BRISBANE midfielder Allen Christensen says there is fat chance of him copping any jibes about his weight from Jason Akermanis in 2016.
Brownlow Medallist and triple premiership player Akermanis raised questions about the condition of Christensen and Lions teammate Josh Green last year.
Christensen was coming off a disrupted pre-season after a second round of back surgery and took the best part of four months to find his best form in his first campaign at the Gabba after making the switch from Geelong.
It is a different story this season.
The 2011 premiership player is 5kg lighter than he was at this time last year after a full summer of hard yards on the training track.
He did not play in the NAB Challenge match against the Gold Coast on Sunday but a lean and mean Christensen is expected to be front and centre when the Lions take on St Kilda in Mackay on March 6.
“I’m ready to go. I’ve had probably the best pre-season that I’ve ever had. I dropped four or five kilos from last year so hopefully I won’t be getting potted from Jason Akermanis,’’ he said.
“Looking back on it now, I probably wasn’t in the greatest shape last year. I still think my output was OK but I’m looking forward to taking another step up.
“I probably didn’t realise how hard it would be (coming back from back surgery). Getting that few extra months of training in is going to make a huge difference to me.’’
He said the criticism from Akermanis hit a nerve.
“I’d be lying if I said it didn’t hurt me a little bit. All I wanted to do was go out there and try to play my best footy. It is what it is. It’s in the past now and hopefully I can prove a few people wrong this year,’’ Christensen said.
Christensen lauded the performance from fellow Lara junior and Lions teammate Rhys Mathieson in the loss to the Gold Coast. The no. 39 draft pick had 13 touches and kicked a goal as well as winning six free kicks in an eye-catching effort.
“He was really impressive. He can draw the free kick really well,’’ Christensen said.
“He is a Lara boy like I am so I take a little bit of extra pride in that. He is as hard as and loves the contest and I can’t wait to play with him.’’
I like H&M tooFaaaaawwwwk! I had the opportunity to take the bus from Griffith Uni to Queens Street Mall today, but i couldn't be bothered. Was absolutely devastated when i found out the lions were kicking the footy outside of H&M.
*rages*
As the old saying goes, sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind. Akers jibe worked a treat....and showed the character of Allen to respond.
