The determination to sack him was more than likely to appease the masses, if it was 10/15 years ago nothing would've happened....boys club must've been livered.Normally I'd agree with you but given the guy is of very limited talent one would have to assume that he got his original role due to some sort of inside connection. The determination to then give him the sack would have been because someone equally as powerful behind the scenes was offended/didnt like him.
In a very average field, imo Tom stands out as one of the poorest footy journos around.
That's what happens when AFL journos are employed based on who they know and not as true journalists.
The fact that he now gets another crack despite clearly not being very good showcases how insular the industry is.
The same wnkers are probably patting themselves on the back for "doing the right thing" and getting him back into the fold.
