Pretty clear Sumich isn't privy to the inner workings of the club anymore whatsoever. Club is clearly pushing in a new direction and the messaging reflects this.
Seems unaware that we have a new S&C, as well as medical getting an overhaul.
Results take longer to see than six games into a season, attempting to implement a new game plan, training methods, etc.
Thank god this dinosaur isn't a decision maker at the club, otherwise we'd probably end up like Essendon/Carlton over the past 20 years.

I’m not subjecting myself to the video, but apparently WCE are one of the biggest “disappointments” of the season so far according to Captain Sliding Doors Damo. Ok then

To be fair, if Suma had come up with that article this time last year, it may have had some validity.
It did have a lot of paragraphs however, so it cannot be entirely ruled out that he has been working on it for the past 12 months.
It just reads like he has grabbed at whatever he could and thrown it, with the hope that something might hit the mark.
Zero analysis and zero acknowledgement that since the 2022 season, changes have been made in almost every area he describes in that piece.
What starts as little more than a "back-in-my-day" rant, rapidly descends into a "sack everybody" melt that is less coherent and less entertaining that what people freely post here every week.

Interesting listening to sport fm this morning. Basically discussing how average the Eagle players are and that there is not much to be excited about. Discussed how gaff is just boring and there are little players in the squad in which you would go to the footie to watch

How the hell can we be a disappointment when anyone with a properly functioning brain knew we were destined for bottom 4? Banking the season on constantly injured vets who average 10 games a season over the last four seasons isn't a key to success

What a load of crap. The media love to kick a team when it's down. I heard the same shit in 2010. I distinctly remember an article saying that a rival list manager described the squad as "beige" and there was not a single player they would want on their list. 12 months later we were playing in a prelim.
People were trashing Adelaide last year as having stuffed their rebuild and here they are now, looking like a top 8 team. As others have said, all you need is a few A grade talents and the whole squad rises as the role players improve. We already have Allen, Barrass and TK (at his best). We're missing another couple for the midfield, but let's see how guys like Ginbey and Hewett go, as maybe they'll be the answer in a couple of years.
The excitement comes from watching the young guys and the surprise of who steps up. This year it is great the see Waterman and Williams improve and I'm loving what Long is showing.
I don't like taking potshots at journalists... but I have no idea how Damian Barrett has become some prominent. He's bloody everywhere. And he doesn't seem to offer any insightful analysis really. At least Caroline Wilson occasionally has inside scoops... but Barrett is just a talking head that shows up everywhere.
He's employed directly by the AFL, that's how.
They where basically talking up players who you would go to the footie to watch ...generational players like Juddie....they were talking up Diacos and discussing how many boring average players we have ...also discussing that coaches like longmuir should let the players express themselves at freo more like the pies
Made some valid points and some poor ones..I just think its easy to have a crack at us because we are down atm..but there is still excitement coming through...Allen Ginbey long to name a few
