Everyone would love to see Fitzroy in the VFL.
Doubt you'd get the nod for either a social club (assuming pokies/pub? Could be fairly hard to get licencing around there) or upgrading Brunswick Street. Pretty pokey area, footy clubs need a fair whack of space for facilities & parking etc.

If fitzroy want to get back into the VFL then Vic Park will have to be home. Brunswick St is not up to standard in so many ways, plus there is nowhere that they can build anything to bring it up to standard.

City of Yarra also might be interested in providing some money to move them from Brunsiwick St as well, I've seen quite a few cards damaged from footballs at that end of the ground.

There is ample room for development, consider the North Melbourne facility, where the site constraints were far greater. Cars damaged by footballs, a simple net structure would solve that problem.
