Ridiculous. Jeff Farmer gets a goal paid thats easily a behind....then he gets a dodgy free kick with 1 second left straight in front of goal and kicks the goal after the siren to win the match. Robbing of the highest order!!!!

What a night tho!!!!!!! Two bloody nail biters!!

Who gave away the "free kick"?

Your captain

shouldn't have mattered the bloke on your avatar should have kicked a score at the very least from 15 out with 90 seconds left

Neitz

on replay the free was definatly there...but geez....what a time to give a free kick!!!

and BLoody Farmer....how would he be feeling....the commentators said it...i believe thats called a fairytale!!

Melbourne have every right to feel robbed, but not by the free kick. The Farmer 'goal' did look like a point. The free kick was warranted, Neitz fell right into his back.

Croad kicked a bag for Hawthorn against the Dees last year, he certainly likes them.

yup i agree. Bad day for goal umpires with that shocker of a decision and the clown in the Port v Geelong game giving Cornes goal (the ball curled inside the goal post about a metre in) given a point.

Well what about Brown's goal that was turned around, ran around the boundary an kicked one from 60 out

The umpire called it back a minute later even after the umpire had waved the flags saying he ran too far

Actually it was called straight away by the field umpire that he ran too far (before he had a shot for goal), but because of the crouds yelling both he and the goal umpire missed it. So what about it?

Jeff Farmer's free kick was clearly there with the umpire having no choice but to pay it as it was obvious and right in front of him. As for the goal before from Farmer, the tv angle suggested it was close, but without the reverse angle it's hard to say.

Go Cats!!

I'm still trying to workout what happened there.I think that ump will be sent to the country for a few weeks.

Firstly he didn't run too far

Secondly, Powell should have goaled from 15 out and the decisions wouldn't have mattered
Firstly he did run too far.
Secondly, the Powell incident is irrelevent, so the umpire decision does matter, this is not a player error we are talking about, this is a clear cut umpire fu(k up. Famer's shot was a point, Melbourne should have been up by 6 with a kickout...

you can see that the umpire wasnt even looking at the ball...he was simply guessing

Deestroy,

Did you actually see the shot at goal from an angle that shows the ball clearly went through for a point or are you going from the ones they showed on the tv which were not very conclusive from what I saw????

Cheers!!

I don't think it was so clear cut that it was a point. Difficult to tell on TV but I would have liked to see it from a different angle. I reckon it was a goal.

Neitz - no doubt that was a free in the back. There's a captain leading by example. :)
