Another Hawthorn thread this one, congratulations
You guys have the highest membership of a club that shows its membership numbers on line.

Eagles Dockers and Crows would top that list in no particular order if they put there stats up.

Redo this thread in the first week of march

Essendon Is even ahead of them.

They're not even doing that they are only counting the AFL controlled homepages. St Kilda's most up to date is on the clubs other site SaintsCentral.com.au and Essendons is on their official site.

Keep the weekly updates coming from the figures we can access. Clubs can provide data or they don't.....up to them.

An Official Club Website - Forum is used by both the CEO and Membership department to answer questions.

Has the most up to date figure right at the top of every page.

From Pies Website -

Total as at 9th Dec 2008: 10,353 (http://membership.collingwoodfc.com.au/)

Friday December 12th is the final day for all reserved seat holders to renew and keep their seats that they have had in past seasons.

I would expect that the first update next week will show a significant spike.

I dont know if the other clubs are using the same (New) or similar online renewals and purchasing system which may be delaying numbers coming through. I hope so, otherwise there is a significant drop as my memory tells me we had about 20k at this time last year.

I don't think we are down that Much! I know that before Christmas last year Collingwood had 15,000 member's and just before Round 1 Collingwood had over 27,000 member's! It would be hard for most clubs to beat last years membership records! I know that Collingwood are aiming for 50,000 member's this year but I think they will be happy to get over 40,000 members in 09 with the Current economic climent!

As of thye 10th December Collingwood's Membership is at 11,174! they seem to update the membership figures daily! Remember that Collingwood tend to sell most of there memberships in the first 5 rounds of each season! before round 1 Collingwood had 27,000 members and by round 5 collingwood had 41,200 members! By Round 11 Collingwood finnished with 42,498 members.

Geelong's season seat and social renewals close on December 18.

So you would imagine Geelong going from zero to about 25,000 pretty fast after that.

Yeah, Pies members are late buyers. Same thing happened last year and we ended up with over 42K. No stress. :)

I would like to see the AFL membership numbers breakdown from club to club. Does anyone know where I can find that?

very impressive start from the Demons.

I wonder if a lot of Collingwood supporters are dropping off due to the membership errors that were made last year. May have forced a lot of people to decide not to renew.

But ultimately its very early days, and you would think come round 1 next year we will still be hovering around the 40g mark.

IMO Collingwood can boast having someone somewhere in any town in the country that follows them

I couldnt see that happening with any other club

Collingwood have the Most AFL members.they are over 42,000 AFL members in Which 9,600 Follow Collingwood then next is Essendon 6,200 then Carlton 5,500.

The Cut off date is 30th January 09! So after that you can add another 10,000 to the Collingwood total!
