Got my card yesterday, with Coons on the front. as we most the promo stuff from the club. What do people think of this years slogan "are you with me". Not sure I like it. Might start a thread about it :p

We complain about or membership when we don't get to 25000, try being one of the thugby clubs up here in Crap City, the news tonight had Cantebury Bankstown Bulldogs (think thats their name this week, after 10 years here still have no interest in the stupid game) celebrating because for the first time in 100 years they had reached 5000 members (membership costs $92 per year for all home games and a seat).

How these second rate sporting clubs in the rugby comp survive I don't know because they are lucky to get 2000-3000 people attend a game, the pokies must be drawing a lot of money.

It doesn't make sense though. Why up the price now? Even if it is still cheap the extra money makes it look much more expensive.

Its all about perspective. I think its cheap to go and you think its expensive.

The thing is the price hardly goes up each year and the cost off running the business keeps going up. Something has to give. They at-least have to keep up with inflation to cover rising cost off wages and equipment.

If you go out each week then you would hardly think the football is an expensive item. Just going to a decent Restaurant cost at-least $50 plus per head not including drinks.

As I said it all about perspective.

hey guys, just wondering whether it would be possible to upgrade your membership once you have it already ?
we have a general admission membership, we already received last week or so but have only just realised we want to purchase a level one membership with reserved seating.
do you think it would be possible to upgrade or is it too late since we have our cards?

I can't remember the exact numbers, but there was a board outside Bulldog Central today that said we had 19100 game day members, 6005 social club members with a total membership of just over 21,000. Hopefully we came very close to cracking the 20,000 game day mark today, though I didn't see what was happening at the Membership tent.

Hey, I just bought 2 memberships today. They are both for reserved seats on level 2 for 11 home games. I'm not sure how this works. At Bulldogs Central today the guy told me he would try to put in a request for Aisle 36 or 37 or somewhere close to Access One so I can get closest to the wing. I just don't understand how these 11 games work? How do they know how many games you have been to? Is it a pre determined 11 games? We have 11 home games for the whole season with not all in Victoria, so do I just miss out on these games? Also, for example, in round 2 we play North Melbourne at the MCG which is a home game for us. How does my reserved seating work there?

^^^^

The aisle 36/37 will be for our home games at Eithad Stadium.

For our home games at MCG, you will have an area allocated for you. This area will be for those that have reserved seats on Level 2 at Etihad. You will not have a reserved seat as such, but a reserved area where you will get a seat.

For our home interstate games, you will get free admittance to 2 replacement games in Melbourne, but not a reserved seat.

11 home games mean you get into all home games. The interstate home games get replaced(usually) with another MCG, TD away game to attend.

This is the last year we have two interstate games as home games. Next year it will be the full 11 home games in your reserved seat.

If you look at the fixture, the games marked as 'home' are the ones that you have free access to.

One more question, If i dont like the seats that I get once I receive my membership pack. If I call could they possibly change them?

You made mention in an earlier post that whomever you dealt with would put in a request for Aisles 36 or 37 - just ring him up again and mention if they are not able to supply you seats in that area to let you know where you are sitting before they issue the seats.

Then you can go to the website and click on the 3D Seat View which will show you roughly the view you get from your seat.

I can't find a link online, but in today's Herald Sun Mark Stevens reports that the Bulldogs are aiming for 32,000 members & are presently 2,400 ahead of whre they were at the same time last year.

Cam Rose is quoted as saying 'our members didn't lose money in Pacific Brands, Macquarie Bank, Asciano & Babcock & Brown. With petrol prices dropping & Kevin 07's $900 & mortgage rates dropping, they've got more cash at hand. Yield is up 11%, reserve seats up 20% & social club up 65%, it's defying all trends'.

Oh, well that doesn't sound too bad, especially if it's up 2,400 on last year. We just need a strong start to the season to keep it moving.
