DIDAK !!
If he was on the trade table at the end of the year, I'd have a really good think about picking him up. Seems like he needs about of a scenery change from the Lexus Centre, still is 25 so still has plenty of upside in him and to be quite honest, I'm sick of him ripping us apart over the last few years. Seems to have that ignorant sort of personality which I love to see on the footy field, much like Reimers' personality, like you wanna have a go at me, I'll take a swipe back and won't look back type of attitude. Would cost a fair bit though, is still under contract, signed a new one this year from memory so don't quote me but as I have stated, would like to see more of his type of personality around the club and he has some credentials to go along to back up his personality. What are others' views on Didak..?

No, just no. Didak wouldn't be a good choice. He isn't arrogant in a "I'm confident in my onfield skills" way, he's just a tool, full stop.

Also, he has a terrible off-field record and even Lovett, whose indiscretions pale almost into insignificance in comparison to Didak, has been annoying this year. Didak would cost too much and would be terrible for the Club's reputation and image (not to mention he would forever be gettting suspended by the leadership group :p)

Don't let Didak anywhere near out footy club. We have responsible leaders, and a brilliant group of mid-aged players who are setting the perfect example for our young group of players coming through. One thing the Essendon football club can be proud of is the way our players carry themselves off the field. We would not want Didak around any of our youngsters. Bad influence, bad sort, no thank you.

Don't we need some middle aged players at the club that can show them an example of how to play quality, consistent footy..? Lovett is quality at times but is a bit too inconsistant and has some off field problems, as has Didak, but Didak has been consistantly good and Didak is three months younger. I'd do Lovett & a 4th round draft pick for Didak, but probably write off the third round sweetner instead opting with the fourth rounder because of his reputation, but Lovett's reputation isn't that good either anymore to be honest.

Wasn't saying Lovett is a great influence. But trading Lovett for Didak, would require us putting picks on the table, which I wouldn't be happy about us doing. Better the devil you know sorta thing. I'd be quite happy for us to trade Lovett out for picks. Watson, Welsh, Hille, McVeigh and McPhee make up the middle aged players who are bringing the young kids along, teaching them how to play good footy and showing them how to carry themselves off the field. Watson is younger than the others, but he has some fine leadership qualities, and I'm happy with the bunch we have now.

Didak does not fit into the culture we have around us at Windy Hill...

I would have thought that if we where trading Lovett part of the reason would be becasue of his off field problems.
So i do not see them giving away a draft pick and a player to land another player who seems to find trouble with ease. I just don't see how Didak fits into the culture that we have been trying to establish over the last 4 or so years.
Sometimes you have to look past onfield performances alone. We have spent the last 4 drafting kids that the recruiters not only belive can play but also have decent character off the field. It has played a big part in our recruting. I just don't see the value in destroying any of that and i don't see him fitting in all that well with Lloyd either.

Trading Lovett would be partly because of his off field incidents, no doubt, but there is plenty of examples of players changing clubs and turning their careers into success stories, and could see it happening here. Didak is out for the rest of the season, and Pert just said that they don't deserve to be wearing the black and white, so could be a real possibility of him finding a new home at seasons end.

Definite No to Didak. He is soft. Hates the hard footy and never puts his head over the ball. Know one likes players like this in their team. Add to that his history and greed for glory and its a recipe for disaster. Knights would not touch him with a 20 foot pole. His philosophy is to get a young group and bring them up together. This way he can mold them into good strong young men with minimal off field incidents.

Yes and like a lot of issues you are only looking at it from your view and not taking into account what the club has been doing.
Yes he can play and yes he would be good on field for us but it is a fact that Lloyd does not want any part of blokes who continually push the boundries. I also know for a fact that Knights is the same.
The bloke has had multiple chances to change how he goes about things but nothing changes. The club drew a line in the sand about 4 years ago and a few players went by the wayside. Since then any bloke who has pushed the boundries has been punished or sent packing. Somehow i don't see them changing direction on this given part of their drafting policy includes drafting kids of good character.

McPhee for Didak?

McPhee has been great for us this season. If he doesn't move down back he won't have a spot in this Essendon side with Gumbleton and Neagle coming through. Didak has the x-factor, he can win us games. McPhee doesn't have the x-factor and others in the team could play the role he does ATM. We need to get games into Neagle and Gumbleton ASAP and they are both gone for this season so they won't be able to play any H&A games till 2009. Didak is a smaller type player who can play tall if required. He would be great from the pocket kicking important goals. He can also play up the ground if needed. He is a very good player.

You don't think Geelong took a risk getting Mooney off North Melbourne with his attitude traits..? You don't think Sydney took a risk by taking Spida off the Hawks' hands..? Of course it is a risk taking Didak, and his attitude stinks at the moment, but there are numerous examples of players changing clubs and being turned into some innocent members of the community, well almost. :D So yes, his attitude does stink, but I think we are more than capable of changing that if he does come to the club, I guess that's been my point the whole time. It's a risk I would be willing to take, not sure if Knights would be though and no-one would know his thoughts on the matter unless he comes out and states something publicly, so it's all specualtion, and that's what this site is built around for the good part of it.

Yes the risk paid off although the Mooney one was not much of a risk becasue he was very young. I would have said that the Hawks took a bigger risk getting Spida of the Saints than the Swans did by getting him on board.
The club has moved away from trying to reform people. It is a fact. Have we shown any interest in players with suspect characters in recent years ?
And by the way you may deal mainly with speculation but not all of us do ;)

Is saying Mooney was a risk to take with his attitude problems even early on by Geelong and Spida being picked up by the Swans not a risk..? Of course some of what I say, you say and what other's say on this site is speculation, because we all have different areas which we know more about and like talking about, and this site is mainly based around speculation and rumours. I was giving my opinion on the matter, and am very open to other's ideas.
