Competition Merger Of The Week 3: St Kilda and Fremantle

1st Entry

The design for this entry is based on a design by ROates (I think) in the West Sydney thread. The Home guernsey maintains the red, white and black vertical panels, but with a purple anchor-like structure. The Away guernsey is the same design, but I just played around with the colours until I got something reasonable.

2nd Entry
I know I get zero points for creativity with this design, as it is simply the 1996-2001 St Kilda Design with the red panels substituted with the Dockers colours of purple (home) and green (away). The only variation with the design is the thin white line along the top of the cross and along the back to provide better definition between the two colours. This is my favourite St Kilda design of all time, mainly because my footy team (the Stirling Saints in the WAAFL) still uses this design.

Took one colour from each team...
Everybody loves the purple haze, so purple was taken from Freo, as for Saints... more AFL teams have white or red compared to Black, so Black was taken. And from that we get Purple (#660066) and Black (#000000)! As for the grey (#666666) away, I wanted something other then white, and grey clashes with none of any AFL teams!
As for the lack of sponsors, if it happens I'll let 'them' choose, same was brand of shirt ;)

Both fantastic :thumbsu:

Here's my first (and probably only entry)

I tried to keep the St. Kilda tri-panel and the Freo anchor design alive in the one jumper. I know its not an anchor in but you get the idea. The purple is Freo's (obviously) and the red is St. Kilda's.
I've noticed this in a lot of three panel jumper (ie Eagle designs), with the bottom half of the back of the home jumper be the other way round? So that the red actually meets with the red, and the purple meets with the purple coming round from the side. I know it's a bit trivial to point out, but it's one of my pet peeves in jumper designing...

Probably not the best guernsey to come back to. To all the newbies out there, I've been creating guernseys for almost a year now until my hiatus :D

Haven't looked at other posts, so if it's like anyone else's (it probably is) Don't blame me.

Well spotted Stats. :) I will fix that some time over the weekend:thumbsu:

gibbsy, smeagle i'm going away for two weeks and thats too long to leave this comp running for

can one of you make the poll and start #4 soon

Remember this?
I may or may not be going away during the time that this comp is open, and I would like some prior confirmation if that is THE final closing time. Last time this happened, it was cut back down due to popular demand, and I was left high and dry. If it stays as is, I will be able to complete my designs when I get back.

I'm going to be away until 16th of April, so i thought it would be easier to have the comp run until then instead of havig to get someone else to take over.

I'll try and knock something together today now, but that will put back my BigFooty competition entry (sorry GG)

If that's what you wanted, I could possibly help with the polls and the following week's comp, but considering I will be interstate I may not find the time. If Gibbsy wanted to take the reigns that's cool.

Careful when using '3d' like templates, slightly side on yet your design is front on. The perspective is completely off.

If you are going to use a template like that, draw a centerline; from the middle of the collar to the middle of the waist, make your design line up with that.

Forgive me that I can give today a write-off, but I'll see if I can get one up tonight. Who's picking teams??

The winner of the comp

Any others still wishing to enter but caught short by the 2-week change in deadline? 'Cause now I'm stuck in Brisbane with internet cafe's and will only be able to submit on the 14th :(
I had a couple of interesting entries on the go, but I'm not sure whether they would have an impact...

If it is just me, carry on then - I suppose most of you are on holidays and want to get cracking on some designs (i.e. more comps)

Besides, it's not like Smeagle's a god. So he doesn't enter early. Who cares? He's just a person.
