Shane was on our rookie list in 2001. After a promising start to the season at Box Hill, he was sidelined with OP, was then diagnosed with a heart condition, decided he liked playing guitar better than playing footy anyway, and wanted at least a couple of years off. What were we supposed to do, elevate him to the senior list?

Exactly. Despite all this, i'm really glad though that he's moved on from this and is starting to play some really good footy for the Tige's.

1. He's a gun.
2. He's a Tuck.
3. He's an Ablett
4. He's at Richmond.

Stop making excuses. He woudl have been better than Angelo Lekkas or any other dud you kept on your list for five years too many.

You mean like the Cloke brothers? Let's keep them all just because one of them has shown a glimpse of talent!

I prefer our Cloke/Shaw tactics to your Tuck tactics of throw the first on the scrapheap and grab the second even if he's no good.

Heath Shaw Travis Cloke and Rhyse Shaw are going to be long term players at the club. Cameron Cloke is a young player and not yet a write-off. In the meantime Shane Tuck is running around in yellow and black instead of poos and wees.

Who are you kidding? Collingwood's insistence of recruiting the entire family tree just 'aint working! Sure the Shaw brothers (no pun intended ;)) look promising, but you would rather prefer to keep over-rated duds on your list, consuming even more of your salary cap, rather than delisting the player and giving him a shot with another club?

One look at the league ladder suggests the Collingwood approach of perseverance and faith in players seems to be working. The form of Lockyer, Rhyce Shaw, Didak, Lonie and Davis in particular is testimony to that. Opposition and Collingwood supporters alike have been baying for their blood for years, but Malthouse to his credit has stuck firm. He'll do the same for Cameron Cloke.

We have very few duds on our list any more - in a list of 38, they wont all be stars. We are pleased that there are no John Barkers wasting space on our list while the likes of Shane Tuck are thrown on the scrapheap.

On mentioning the Tuck/Saints comparison to a mate who is a saints fan he reminded me that there are only 2 teams that the saints have a better W/L ratio.
And they are?

University and the Bulldogs. That's why they kicked out University and not Saints!

You said that recruiting whole families was a stupid idea then admitted the Shaws look the goods. Bottom line is that we have a 50 % success ratio on "Clokes and Shaws" (higher if Cam Cloke ever makes the grade), which in itself is reasonable - if 50% of your players turn out to be successes you'll probably win flags.
How did a Tuck V St Kilda thread turn into a Clokes V Shaws thread:rolleyes:

....and Tucky >>>> St Kilda....bloody hilarious!!!!!:D

Just a question, trying to settle something at football.

Who's played more finals, Michael Tuck or St. Kilda?

St. Kilda has played in 40 finals games, 3 grand finals, how many did Tuck play?
Without wishing to be pedantic and I agree it's still poor but the Saints have been in 5 g/f's.
