Who is the best option to put on the bench ???

I'm struggling to find any bench players (under $95k) that I think will get consistant games early in the year.

So who do you think is the best bet ???

In all honesty, im jumping off Beams now.

Collingwood is alot stronger than it looks, and might struggle to fit both Sidebottom and Beams into the team. :thumbsu:

i think Beams will get a game before Sidebottom so im sticking with him,Tom Swift could also be another handy player he looker real sharp against collingwood and although he is $105000 Dangerfield should be a regular for Adelaide.

First of all it's A. Otten and secondly he is more than $95k.

I'd vote for Anthony due to his great pre-season he will be getting the games everyone initially thought Ziebell would. Other potentials would be Rohan Bail and Jack Steven.

I'm sure you're right !! I didn't do any checking on him @ all, I just saw him mentioned a few times, so thought I would add him to the poll !!

Thanks for the correction !!

Currently i have Beams and Robinson. I think you guys are right about beams being ahead of Sidebottom.
I find Robinson more of a worry tho. Not sure he will get a regular game.

I rate Swift extremely highly, but he has been out of the game for a while, and i dont think that he will be very prominent this year even though he clearly has the talent.

he and yarran will play 20-22 games this year. yes the blues are aiming to make the finals but rats knows that he needs to put games under these blokes belts if they want to win a granny in the next 5 years. when assessing the youth at carlton all you have to do is look at their history murphy, gibbs, kreuzer etc all got heaps of games in their first year barring injury

wce players are going to get games but its hard to expect them to pull out years like cyril, palmer or dalziell because they will get demolished by most teams.

re palmer, freo finished 14th last year.

i expect west coast to finish higher than 14th unless our injury list is worse than last year, which you'd think is highly unlikely.

If you guys finish higher than 14th then who do you think will finish 14th and 15th (Melbourne 16th most likely) I don't think it will be the Bombers or Freo either.

I can see another long year coming up for the coasters. :D

Freo were very competitive for 3/4 of the season, it just happened to fall neatly within 3/4 of every game. As for West Coast, I can see them pipping Melbourne and one of Essendon or Freo, but maybe not both. Most of the rest of the bottom 8 look to be on the up, and I doubt the sliders are going to fall that far.

A write-off of a season should mean plenty of game-time for kids though.

And Carlton are going to win the flag.. your full strength team getting flogged by Freo in bunbury was to lull the opposition into a false sense of security.

I think the competition in general will be alot close this year. You forget that last year and even during this pre-season we were missing alot of players. I see us around 10-12 this year. :thumbsu:

Btw i think our long seasons will end alot sooner than Carlton's recent run of 'long seasons'. ;)

Playing in a shit team doesnt automatically translate into a shit score for youngsters. I can see guys like Masten, Ebert, S.Selwood etc all improving and guys like Brown, Swift and Cockie (if he gets elevated) putting up half decent numbers.

Its all good Sparts, just having a bit of friendly opposition banter. ;) I do hope for your sakes that the Eagles go better than last year and I love Coxy too, he's a champ. :thumbsu:

If the Eagles finish higher above us though then I will start believing in the Easter bunny! :D

I don't think WCE will finish higher than the Blues this year, however i think we're on par in terms of getting to premiership success. I have faith in our rebuilding process.. last time we were this shit it only took us 2 years to make the finals again.

Blues have a great midfield, however your backline is shit and your forward line is one piss away from being non existant.

And yes.. Coxy is a champ.. We all love big cox.

my point was that palmer was a freak he pritty much carried the midfield for most of the season. i dont think swift is as good as the three i mentioned but i could be wrong
