Re: Millewa Football League

I've heard it before but where does this idea come from "If there is no Millewa League the SFL loses its Major league status" an urban myth (rural myth) I think.

Re: Millewa Football League

Gol Gol Finally Knocked off. Great for the MFL, however it might be 40+ games before the saints are beaten now. Huge win and they are a long way infront of the pack and much better than I thought they would be.

Anyone from Gol Gol care to offer any excuses?

Why would they need to have excuses? Bambill are just way to good, not much can be done about it. They did have the lowest losing margin of all sides to play them so I guess that's something!

Should be a good fight for second with Golly, Cardy and Werrimull though. Maybe that's what we need to look at as first place is stitched up.

Agree with the battle for second spot, I thought Cardy would get beaten however would seem they may still be in the hunt.

I wasn't saying Golly needed excuses, I was just wanting to hear some of the B.S that they might come up with.

Re: Millewa Football League

hi does anyone know travis(nev) from bambil football club. how old is he and is he single? my friend thinks he is hot and wouldnt mind nowing him better?

Re: Millewa Football League

By all accounts Gol Gol were beaten by a better side (Bambill), would give the Golly boys something to think about now, and to work on for the return match in July.

P.S, No B.S. excusses at all, just beaten by the best side going around at the moment.

Went out to watch the Werrimull v Cardy game as i have family in both teams! Cardy were far too good for Werrimull! The margin would've been bigger if they hadn't have mucked around with the ball in the second half.

Should be a pretty good game this week with Cardy hosting Goly.

You're right I think it will be a cracker of a game. Golly would be favorites and deservedly so but I expect it to go right down to the wire.

As for Werrimull they are obviously struggling with injuries and unavailability but I would look for a strong finsh to the home and away rounds from them.

Won and Lost-
Golly has a lot of options in their forward line and kick goals through the midfield so I would say the Cardy midfield will have to work hard to restrict the forward entries and play very accountable footy to get over the line.

Re: Millewa Football League

thats the one thing cardy has never been able to do.
The grand Final was Cardross's unaccountablity at its best.

I didn't see the game but I'm pretty sure Golly would have made most teams look unaccountable through the year.

You have a point though, I think games in this league could be a lot closer if teams played more accountable. Hardly any tagging goes on and especially regarding the lesser sides, you would think they would sit on a couple of players and concentrate on beating there direct opponents before going kick chasing. Surely couldn't inflict any more pain on the score board then they already get!

I've known Nevvy for a long time now and you couldn't meet a better bloke. He's around 30 I think. Loves a beer, and is such a laugh as anyone who was at the Setts on Saturday night would of seen. He'll show your mate a great time

I must be on the wrong site. Looks as though I've stumbled across Perfect Match.....maybe we should ask Dexter if your friend is compatible!

Re: Millewa Football League

I watched the second half of the Cardy V'S Gol Gol game. Cardy just wanted it more. They were harder at the ball, had more voice, were keen to do well and were very accountable in their back line. Gol Gol looked slow and un-interested. No second efforts and the forwards just let the ball back out way too easily.

I don’t think Gol Gol know how to grind out a tough win after have three years of easy games.

Gol Gol also undisciplined with Berryman being sent off in the last quarter which saw them with a couple short for the last 10 minutes.

Re: Millewa Football League

I watched the whole game (cardy v golly)
And i have never seen a better working back line then Cardy had on Saturday

peeled off easy and worked for each other.
This team has got something.
And i am on board the bandwagon now.

The hard working, blue collar team of Cardross.

Makes a change to see a club playing so well that arent full of highly paid players.
This is what Millewa football is all about.

Gee nice to see some positive comments being posted.
The backline did work well very accountable.
There is a lot of footy to be played and injuries will come into play as Werrimull can attest. Werrimull will improve heaps on last outing and I have no doubt that Golly will be stung into action after 2 consecutive losses.
I think there will be some very good games toward the end of the season and the 4 is in no way settled.

Interested to hear peoples opinions on the Golly 3peat teams vs Bambill 07.
I spoke to a bloke on the weekend that said Bambill aren't even close to what Golly were. He actually said Golly would win by 5-6 goals. I realise it is all guess work and we will never know but I am interested to hear what you guys think as I didn't get to see the domination of Golly.

Re: Millewa Football League

I havent seen Bamb$bills this year yet, so i cant comment but Golly rein was pretty good in this modern era.

I still think Cardy lack big hard bodies needed for a flag, Bounis would of been great to keep but $'s talk dont they.
Never the less, Im on board.

BTW, Cardross still play unaccountable footy ;)

Re: Millewa Football League

Skeeterman,
Would you care to enlighten us about the 5th quarter that was played out in O'malleys on Saturday night? :D

Maybe he was out enjoying heself and taking it easy with a few mates after a very hard 7 weeks in bed and pretty much confined to his home. He should be able to enjoy a few beers with mates shouldn't he?

Recon you might want to check your story mate! From what i've been told it was Matt Dean and not Ben (Alphabet).

Should be a very interesting game next time round! Could it be that Goly just can't handle losing now, if so stiff S HIT!

Ahh... Would there be any chane of people getting there facts straight.
Words were exchanged with the bloke your talking Ben alphabet which I can honestly say was started by him as I had no idea who he was before then. And a very, very minor scuffle with another Golly player.
To be honest I didn't think there was much in either.
All this stems from the fact that on the field I was getting stuck into the Golly boys verbally as revenge for Round 1 when they had a fair bit to say. Only difference is they wanted to continue off the field.
