Have heard he won't be back until maybe week one or two of the finals. The way their midfield is playing I don't think they're gunna miss him too much, with Paul Johnstone, Brad Sholl, Troy Richardson and Mark Johnson more than capable of kicking bags of goals. Not to mention all the goals from the midfielders!
I just hope for interests sake the Tatyoon get a full side on the field! Any update there Magic?

Taty are starting to hit some form and fitness. Heading towards full strenght. Andy McDougall dislocated his finger badly on saturday and will miss a few but it was a sucessful return from Shane Hitchcock who presented well. Sean McDougall has really injected some life into the team and things are starting to look good heading into finals. So with the likes of Milne, McMahon and Walton returning towards finals things can only improve.

Taty still missing Tim McDougall, his brother Doogs (as Magic said) and McMahon and Walton.. unsure about Milne
Walton will have a run in the two's this week to see how he goes while Tim, Doogs and McMahon aren't expected back until right on finals time..
Will this give them enuf match practice? particularly McMahon who has barely played all year?
Matt Harris and Rich King expected to play this week..

PS Rich Tucker would have to be in the top five players in the league!! kicked five from the middle on sat and dominated..

I would definately rate Rich Tucker in the top five in the league. He has the ability to play in almost every position on the ground.
Milne would have to return in the next week or two to qualify for finals, is that right??????

someone the other week thought only 2 games qualifies you... is that rite??? doesn't seem like a fair amount if it is... milne would be a great injection to the goons foward line... be interesting to see if his dominating form could quickly be reignited...

magic how is tim coming along??? hope quickly for his sake and for the teams... taty need him 2 hit so form of last yr and it'd be shattering for him to miss another seniors finals series...

Does he have to qualify to play seniors?
He is already a Tatyoon player.

I think if he plays a reserve game then he has to play two or three senior games to qualify for them.

If his intentions were to play just reserves I think he would have to play four reserves games to qualify.

Who can clarify this?

So if what has been said is true then he would have to play ALL of the remaining four rounds to qualify for seniors?
Taty have talked up his return all season, seems to be they may have left his run a little late!! what will happen if he gets injured?
Even a one week injury would mean he couldn't qualify!!?

I may have got it slightly wrong in a previous post.

Milne can play seniors in the finals, without playing a qualifying game.......reason he is already a Tatyoon player.....only has to sign a rego form.

But to play reserves as a sole objective he must play three or four?? club games to qualify for that grade.

The league/rule deems that if you want to risk playing a player first up in the senior finals, thats your risk!

This also gives a long term injured player the chance to get back playing in the finals (eg. inj Rd 1) without having qualifying procedures to go through.

But if a player plays more than nine senior games, he cannot play reserves finals, unless both teams are playing on the same weekend.

Thats good news for taty bloods but you would still think they'd like him 2 play at least 2-3 games just for form purposes...

absolutely 'lose'!.....a few runs under the belt will definitely ne needed!

The scales will swing back a little towards Tatyoon's favour if Milney gets going and say Matthews struggles to get back with that hammy........could be some life in the final's after all.

Eagles still the team to beat though!

how many senior games can a player take part in before he is unable to play finals with the reserves?
bloods this ones for you

Im pretty sure that its Nine games. If you play 9 senior games u overqualify for reserves. however, if both senior and reserve teams are playing on the day, then it doesnt matter. Its possible to have played every game in the seniors for the year and play twos on the day!

any confirmation on thatbloods?

i thought it was something like that wasnt to sure though.

the weekends results show how far Derri are from challenging HM, Simply relied on the experienced players and they just didnt stand up, and if they cant do it against SMW then they will be a pushover come finals time.

:thumbsu: May struggle to hold third place now!

You guys seem so thrilled!
It is true, the Demons rely on too few. They haven't the depth of the top 2 clubs and once oppositions work out who they need to stop then there are troubles. I am just hoping they can find some form just to make the finals a worthwhile experience. Nobody needs snoozy finals.

I am not sure about being thrilled as you put it 'Noodles'.....but probably more 'realistic' about their chances, than some supporters that put them on a pedastal with the top clubs, purely based on a win against Tatyoon in round 8, who in that game had more than half their team out.

A couple of losses to teams outside the five since that win proves that the Demons are not much better than a mid-range team at best!

A win for SMW Rovers this week makes a spot at 5th very realistic.
Glen: Pens, MW, LD
Caramut: SMW, MW, Taty
SMW: Caramut, HM, WLB
Bold= games i believe will the team will lose
provided Rovers win this week, they have very good chances. There form in the second half of the year would suggest they have built momentum and there is no reason why they cannot challenge Caramut.

Except that Caramut play Woor-Mort in Rd17 not Moy-Will.....makes things a bit harder!

For mine if Rovers beat Caramut this week, it sets it up for Glen-Dunk to beat Lis-Derr at home in Rd 18 to make it.....provided the Rams beat Pens this weekend.

But if Caramut win they will make it unless Glen-Dunk can also beat Moy-Will...........probably not likely!

Does anyone know where the finals will be played? My guess is the Grand final will be at Caramut or penshurst. When will the Details be known?

The league decides when they know what the composition of the five is...........and that may not be until after the last round, with third, fourth and fifth still not settled.

The league also works on a two finals in three years rotation system to give every club a slice of the final's pie, so that also comes into play when making a decision.

With the GF almost certainly to be played out by the far north and far sth of league, caramut or Penshurst would be a logical choice. And with Linke on the grounds committee u would think Penshurst. Glen is fairly central as well.

the grand final was played at glen the year before last, so i dont think it will be played there, and plus the oval is not as good as it was previous years, i think it should be played at mortlake, but dont think the league will want to pay the fee.
