Can anyone from rovers give me some feedback on saturdays thrashing? what was the mood like around the club afterwoods? From what i heard you only had one alright player and that was nick byrne

Yeah I think the boys are obviously dissapointed, but its not the end of the world. At least we know where we are at, and how much work we have to do to be a serious contender this season. Injuries have hurt Rovers, but were outclassed by a better side in Tattyoon, but we wont be the only club to suffer that fate this season.

Competition has evened out, with the exception of Tatty who look 10 goals better. Amazing what throwing a bit of coin around for a couple of seasons can achieve?? Just hope for Tatty's sake that the money-men don't all leave next season when the cash runs out!!

yeah they were very dissapointed and probably feel cant get near taty anyway... but they will be real contenders with the rest as the have some key names to come back.. andy cleeland,tim cleeland, jesse robertson, nathan bagley, andrew robertson, shaun davidson, dave nicholls who are all brillaint players, both the robertsons finishing in the rovers top four b/f last year and tim cleeland a proven player with his league best and fairest so will big improvers from last week...

It is not a money thing when it comes to playing at tatyoon! People are more than happy to go there and stay there because they are such a great club! Everyone that goes out there always feels welcome and thats why they end up staying around for so long! Money isn't a big thing when a club is fantastic off firled and has a good bunch of blokes around it!

Would have to agree with you here mate, they are pretty good off field,
have you been at the club long? are you still there? is the club still as close off field as they are on field

just heard it on the grape vine did you mclean?? you being a taty man you would of been there.. so are saying that rovers only have one good player.... you seem to do a fair bit of talking were you or are any good at footy mate, you seem to bag other people!!!
 
Yes i do follow tatyoon but i dont get to everygame. Cant people have their own opinion in this thread or is it just talking peple up? I only said that they had one good player on saturday! i know they have some other good footballers but they had shit days. i am shit at footy but i enjoy watching it and expressing my opinion.

Apart from the coaches could you please name some of these money men taty have? i cant think of any?

Milne on Massive Money,Z McDougall, J McMahon, D Cameron, A Gibson (if he is back out there) A Ward, T McDougall, S Walton Then you have Jason James and A Healy were on big coin before they got given a coaching role

milne seems to be a waste of money??? couldnt even get a kick agianst rovers.... and as mcclean will tell you rovers are no good!!!

Gibbos not playing cause he's heads to big carry around so he's not getting paid, Wardy is in london so i'm pretty sure he's not getting payed and Zander McDougall not a permanent ones player so hes not gettin paid either ol son...

Is it Mr Martin still shelling out the cash to pay for the Tatyoon FC dominance? Or has someone taken over the duties after his long-service.

Milne on some money, z.mcdougall, j.mcmahon, d.cameron, t.mcdougall are not on any. A.gibson and a.ward not playing, and sonny is on some money. So they only have 2 played players that arent coaches. That would be one of the better teams in the league? How did rovers go on the weekend?

Milne on SOME money?? He is on massive money, and the McDougalls are getting paid!!! McMahon would be on coin, or did they just give him captain instead of money?? No need to try pull the wool over everyones eyes
 
very dissappointing loss for rovers on the weekend they seem to be really struggling to show a positive attitude this season although key injuries have hurt they still have a huge amount of talent on paper but just seem to be struggling in working together any thoughts on that from anyone

Tatyoon have a policy where they dont pay local players unless they have moved away and have to travel home!! So in cruise mode where do you get your incorrect sources from?
 
I wouldnt think any of the McDougalls would be getting paid, they love it out at Tatty and I wouldnt think it is in their nature to want money to play out at Tatty.

And before anyone asks I know them from cricket and talking to them locally.

Thats a rediculous policy by tatty. You always should look after the locals in some way even if its not always financial. You should pay players what they are worth otherwise it turns into an us vs them mentality.... obviously it costs a little bit more to bring recruits in who have to travel and are not playing at their home clubs.
 
I would suggest that whatever the policy is at Tatyoon it works. Locals travel home to play regularly and recruits embrace the club and stay involved long after expected in most cases.
Is money paid to recruits? Yes, but without a huge base of local players to select from that's a necessity.
Face it, the club is obviously a good environment to be involved in and in years of watching from afar I've rarely heard of disgruntled club members complaining about who receives payment or how much.
 
Does any1 know the wherebouts of a bloke called Daniel Paige, Last time i saw him was last year, he was playing at LIS/DERRI? Anyone heard or seen him?

Tatty a strong club on and off the field, what they do behind closed doors and how they pay players is up to them, as long they feel it is in the clubs best interests.

Some clubs have to pay more to get players, I mean unless you talk to people involved with our league, many of the club names or towns, people have never heard of, so for clubs to survive they have to shell out hopeing that the one or two they deal with, may bring another 2-3.

Country football is not getting any easier, Numbers in our league have dropped, and i feel the standard of football has also, So forking out money to those who want to come and play in our league, and can only make it better, good luck to them, for those who sit back and bag out clubs for spending money, im afraid your stuck in the times.

When there is a strong team others seem to find more to try and overcome that team, So it can only make the league better....

It all goes around in a cycle, I mean look, maybe 2-3 years ago it was SMW, and LIS/DERRI spending all they money, and last year maybe BOLAC and TATY, so next year are we going to pay out on the MOYSTONS and the CARAMUTS, i dont think so....

This maybe true, but from your list of clubs paying out the big bucks in the previous seasons it seems as though there is an odd one out.

Bolac premiers 2005
SMW premiers 2004/03
Lismore/Derri premiers ?????

Well you don’t have to have a business degree to work out that Lismore have spent the $$$ for what…. Runners up twice

Q. What’s the difference between an arsonist and lismore/derri??

A. An arsonist wouldn’t waste 22 matches :D
