Mitch Brown

I think our one is actually Mitchell Brown, so not quite identical.

I wouldn't be surprised to see this Mitch Brown taken by the doggies at 31 or 32.

Roos will pick him with their second pick if he is still there. West Coast have spoken to him as well about pick 18

:thumbsu:

There is no reason why we shouldnt pick up another tall in this draft. The excuse of we already drafted all our talls in previous drafts doesnt cut it. How many will actually come on and becomesolid players, let alone guns. Would you not draft Bradshaw because we already have too many tall players?

If Swift is unavilable at 18 I would love us to take the best available KPP and take Walters with 20.

Measured at 195cm and 84 kgs at screening.

Everyone is finally jumping on.

I have touted this guy on the school forum since June. Have only seen him play twice, once against the mighty ACK where he completely dominated the game with 7 goals and about 20 marks and the last TAC Cup match against the Falcons where he played as a lead up forward. In a game that included Watts and Vickery, he was certainly the best tall on the ground by a mile.

It's a big call but I will not be surprised if he turns out to be the best player to come out of this draft. Maybe not next year but in the following years.

Hope he is still around at pick 15 but I have a feeling that he might be gone.

He's shot up 4 cm in the last fortnight? I took the info straight out of Inside Football. Can you provide a link to back that up?

I suspect the Inside Footy info was taken off the TAC team sheets put out at the start of the year. I believe his height at State Screening was almost on 195cm.

Is he more of a FF, CHF or lead up CHF Ash Hansen style?

More of a Nick Reiwoldt type. Leads up and pushes back hard. Saw him take 3 marks running back with the flight.

Averaged around 6 goals a game at AGS from CHF. And reading other posts, the 8 goals he kicked in the AGS v APS match was all class.

I see him in the range of 30-60, due to the fact he is unproven against the best players in the country having only dominated a few TAC and AGS matches. However his size and talent is will help him to be drafted ahead of say a proven small midfielder.

Because most of who got the results where told not to post them all over the internet.

Who told you not to do this?

Get over yourselves. Seriously, some people on this site make me laugh.

What is the point of forums like this if like this if information like this is not made available?

I mean, its not like clubs sign up to confidentiality agreements to receive them. The top 10 results at Draft Camp are reported everywhere so there is obviously no confidentiality attributed to the draftees.

It's not a Cold War for gods sake, think about it, you are controlling information on how quickly some 17 year old boys can run and jump.

Gah!

You can risk the lawsuit.

Trust me, people are told specifically and firmly, not to share the information.

Deal with it.

SANDRINGHAM Dragons TAC Cup coach Jarrod Molloy says it was more a case of likely draftee Mitch Brown growing out of teammate Jack Watts’ shadow than being stuck in it.

Brown is the quintessential late bloomer.

At 195cm, the 18-year-old is an imposing sight compared to the boy he was a year ago when the Dragons weren’t sure if he was for them.

Every year a draft bolter emerges, and the youngster flying up the ratings ahead of this year’s NAB AFL Draft could well be key forward Brown.

Brown’s TAC Cup coach certainly thinks he would be worth the punt for any AFL club, especially given his improvement this year at the time his body was struggling to catch up with his growth spurt.

“There’s a heap of upside for [AFL] clubs from the development side of it because he hasn’t done a full pre-season before. He’s just learning how to play key position and [yet] he still does it very well for the amount that he’s played there,” Molloy said.

The Mentone Grammar student played the majority of the season at centre half-forward for Sandringham in the TAC Cup, something Molloy would have laughed at a year earlier.

“He only came into our program very late because he’s actually gown a fair bit over the last year,” Molloy said.

“He’s about six-foot-three or four now, and a year ago he was probably five-foot-seven or eight, so he’s probably grown six or seven inches.

“Initially he missed a bit of the squads at Sandringham because of his height, but then we went and watched him at his school footy and then invited him back into our program and he just got better and better as the year went.”

As 2008 progressed, so too did Brown. As he got bigger, so too did the plaudits.

He impressed in the TAC Cup for Sandringham and while he didn’t do enough to win a representative jumper for Vic Metro mid-year he had AFL scouts looking.

Most recently he caught the eye of several scouts at a state screening session where those not invited to the AFL Draft Camp in Canberra were not only measured from head to toe but put through a series of tests to determine whether they might just be the next big thing.

While another Dragon in Watts and others such as Nicholas Naitanui have grabbed most of the draft headlines, Brown’s star is rising with some believing he could be a top-30 selection.

S-M-O-K-E-Y :)

Word from a scout for one of the better-resourced AFL recruiting departments, is that he expects Mitch Brown to go in the first round. He reckons there's been a stack of interest in him.

FWIW, this is the only "rumour" of any sort that I've posted in relation to this year's draft. Can't verify the extent to which the source is "in the know", but obviously he would discuss this stuff with other members of the recruiting department.

WCE showing quite abit of interest apparently.

Would be interesting to have 2 players of the same name in the same side. Cant imagine its happened before.

Richmond had Ben Holland and Ben Hollands in the same side.

Dennis Rodman grew 14 inches in a short period of time while in his late teens.

The lawsuit!!! What law are you breaking??? Who is going to take you to court over "leaking" draft camp results??

Laughable it is. I have actually seen all the results so it doesn't phase me one bit - I just feel for the honest people on here who obviously have an interest in the draft but are denied information that is readily available.

You can whinge all you like, but I was provided them in confidence, so I will not be posting them. If you have access to them, post them yourself.

Other websites have been warned to take them off, and I won't risk it here.

It the results were posted it would become quite annoying because everyone on Bigfooty would just judge players based on their DC results ie "Why would we draft that crab, he runs 3.22 for 20m!!". Ignorance is bliss.
