AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
In 2009 he bowled absolute crud in the Lord's test, which is probably what most people remember from that series. He did bowl pretty well later in that series. In 2010/11 he won us the match in Perth but was bowling the crud before and after that.
Anyway, as others have said, it's a great sporting story this one. Couldn't be happier for him!
He got his mojo back at the IPL and hasn't looked back. He is scary good atm.
Nothing to do with IPL and everything to do with DK sorting out his run up and arm action.
I don't understand you.
Johnson's form this series has nothing to do with playing in the IPL at all.
It was all to do with DK sorting him out.
The power of the mo!The turn around is ******* unbelievable.
Can't even put into words how happy I am for him, after he completely lost it.
There was a session in the IPL with Johnson and Malinga opening the bowling and mostly bowling at Gayle. I swear it was as good as test match cricket. It was just after Gayle had broken the Pune bowlers in two.Yes but he has been bowling well since IPL, that's what I was pointing out.
One of the greatest sporting comebacks I've seen. The derision he faced from people in Australia and around the world was pathetic in itself and completely unjustified, and to come back from that low and be the best bowler in the world over the last four months is incredible. Batting has been okay too, and he's had some amazing highlights in the field. Will back him in to be Player of the Tournament at the World T20.
Justified to an extent, but the level of malice and invective people were too happy to hurl at him when he was down was over the top. Certainly he faced more of it than any other out of form cricketer we've had over the last 10 years for no real individual reason. The derision and criticism he faced was mostly justified, apart from a couple of good performances in tests he bowled a lot of loose expensive garbage. Credit to him for turning his form around this summer but lets not re-write history, a lot of people thought it was a mistake selecting him for the Ashes series just like a lot of people thought it was a mistake picking Marsh for this series.
Damn right.
Punter's comments in his book are looking extremely profound; one of the most talented cricketers he'd every seen - who had absolutely zero faith in himself and his ability.
Which, in my eyes, elevates Boof even higher as a coach and manager of cricket talent.
Damn right.

Time for a repeat, 5 years on?
IF he keeps this up, he's a shoe-in unless the BCCI demand that the trophy goes to one of their lot under the 'we provide the biggest audiences, we should be given the most trophies' rule.
