Mitchell Marsh

Just going by the shite you post I couldn’t see a campaigner like yourself not being in full voice booing an Australian player at the MCG.
Wasn't there. Nice try Mrs Marsh, presumably, that's why you defend him so vigorously? You're his mother?
I ask again, have you ever not been a tool?

P.S. Wanting that hack out of the team is not posting shite, it's not tolerating shite from our selectors.
Mitch deserves his place

I never said it was the right thing to do. It's completely bizarre that it happened to be honest.
I, of course, was meaning more generally. Can't tell the truth about dear little Mitchell without you leaping to his defence.

You do get that he's crap right??

Ah yes, that famous batsman Jackson Bird.

Averages only 12 runs less at test level than 'all-rounder' Marsh. :rainbow:

Two dozen runs across the match seems a good enough trade for a legitimate 5th bowler which clearly we would've needed more.

I booed Goodes because he was and still is a crud stirring dickead with a chip on his shoulder.

LOL, you may as well have just said "I'm not racist but...." :$

Let's run a simple test.

Would Marsh without any bowling ability at all be considered in our best 6 bats?
Would Marsh without any batting ability at all be considered in our 4 frontline bowlers?

So why pick him because he's ok at both.
So I see what you're saying. He's that trash as a batsman we might as well just move Paine up to 6. Cummins to 7 then pick any of Tremain/Sayers/Siddle/Bird in the 4 bowling spots, or a 2nd spinner if the pitch suits.

We could get less complicated and just pick a batsman. Burns, Wade or Patterson would be decent options.

Wade's medium pace might even be more threatening

I thought he was over bowled today, it seemed like Paine had to use him to justify the selection.
Actually thought he was the second best bowler. Looked more dangerous than Lyon and Hazlewood and it was only very late in the day where Starc was more threatening.

Couldn't give a f***, he deserved to be dropped. Doesn't make the Marsh selection correct though.

With what Marsh brings with the bat they may as well have picked a 5th bowler.

That was one guy, unlike the majority of the West Coast crowd that booed a guy for being Indigenous and have now conveniently forgotten about it since he came to play for them. :$
Handscomb deserved to be dropped. Would you have booed him if he had played? Or was it just childish, and a little partisan, nonsense.

If they selected Marsh specifically for this one Test at the MCG, knowing it was going to be a road and they'd need him to bowl 10+ overs, is a chance to get runs on a flat wicket (as shown last ear) then I don't think it's the worst selection when you consider Handscomb's form. If they've done this and plan to give Handscomb one more chance in Sydney then it's not too bad.

However if they've selected him for yet another 7-8 Test run regardless of his output then it's going to be very frustrating.

Bird has six not outs from nine innings. I know you're a resident of the Bay, so if you're going to use this kind of garbage logic, perhaps stay there.

Geoff Marsh should just see the writing on the wall and concede that his children have had their run at Australian level Test cricket and he should just hand the baton over to the children of Steve Waugh, James Sutherland and Darren Lehmann. I mean there's a whole lot of nepotism yet to come.

funny reading west Aussies mock vics for booing marsh as you shouldn't 'boo one of your own' from a state that used too boo Adam Gilchrist when he first went to WA as he took Tim zoehers spot in the shield team.

Is it exactly the same fans? I didn't realise that, thanks for pointing it out.

Society has evolved a lot in the past 20 years. Just not here in Victoria. Sometimes I'm ashamed to be a Victorian.

I think the booing of him was and is crap personally.

I'm not a fan of his selection, at all, but he bowled tidily enough on what is an appalling pitch today.

I would never boo a player selected to represent Australia.

Siddle is already in the squad, Bird and Richardson have decent Shield records this season and have been deemed good enough to be around the test squad in the past 12 months, and then there's Pattinson who if they had confidence in his body could've been worth a punt.

Don't care which one it was, but all would be better alternatives to picking Marsh.
They’d be better off picking a Pattinson as 4th quick, him and Cummins are pretty close to equal with the bat to Marsh.
Marsh has proven time and again he’s a limited overs player I don’t understand why they keep persisting with him.

Saying that watch him score runs on the highway and all the apologists for him will be slapping each other on the back about how he’s turned the corner.

I'd not head to a game of football over in WA then. All they ever do is BOOOO.
