Would like to see Stiffy, Rutten and Doughty rested until maybe the last game. And actually do like the idea of Otten as 3rd tall in the forward line. I think he would do alright. :thumbsu:

Like the idea of Otten as a hlf forward too. This is not beyond him as he did spend some time there as a junior. First game for us i think he played there too? Looked very shaky as you would do in your first game.

If your referring to his first league game, the one against Hawthorn, then nah he played on the bench.:p

Really? I must be confused with another game of his. He got injured in his first? I remember he got injured early.

His second game of 08 was against Richmond at AAMI (Round 19). I remember he took a couple of good grabs up forward but sprayed both of his shots at goal. He appeared to have a bit of trouble adjusting to AFL in his two games that year, which is quite understandable.

I hope they keep the better & older players on ice...
rutten, johncock, VB, porplyzia, jacobs, doughty, thommo, reilly, Talia

and give the younger ones the chance to grab one of those final spots in the team for when the good stuff starts...

with a perform or play in the magoos approach...

which leaves a team like for nab 1

Otten, L Thompson, Petrenko
Jaensch, Lynch, Tambling
Vince, Douglas, Mackay
Henderson, Tippett, Smith
Wright, Walker, Callinan

Jenkins, Martin, Sloane
Mckernan, Knights, Johnston Dangerfield Riley and Co.

As cammo84 said I think you're confused with his second game against Richmond, round 19. His first was against Hawthorn earlier that season in round 12. You might remember the Hawks game as it was a really tight contest where Franklin went in to the midfield in the final quarter to escape the Bock matchup. Otten played very little that day, which I think was due to Craig not having the confidence to play him in a game of that nature. Personally I wasn't happy with this decision because it looked to me as if our players were worn out from playing with one less player.

Would like to see what the new requits can do, especially Grigg & McIntyre for me. Would we all be in agreeane that Props doent play or is there a feeling that he may need some game time to find touch?

Porplyzia needs to play MMC to test his shoulder. Will give him (and me!) plenty of confidence if he can make it through unscathed.

I don't see the sense behind including Talia in this group. He only played a handful of games in 2011, we should giving him all the time he needs to develop. I would have thought the NAB Cup would be a good opportunity to rest Rutten and give Talia the top job, see how the kid handles it. He is by no means an experienced player.

fair enough on talia, i justy reckon its gonna be a long enough season for him any way...

and if by chance things get interesting in September - would need him up and about i would think...

CHB looks our achillies (filthy - you sod)...
