I think we are seeing this power side peaking right now and its not got enough talent to win a flag. Butters and JHF both not very influential as Sydney put a lot of work into both. They had a real chance this year as it did look even and they blew it. Its not hard to see this side sliding in coming years as they are ordinary at both ends of the ground under finals pressure.

Whats crazy to me is that they are 1-5 in their last 6 finals.

Their one win was by 3 points.

Their average losing margin across the five losses is 52 bloody points.

To be fair to bigman, those bottom tier players all played out of their skins last week against Hawthorn.

Just shows the step up playing against a top tier side in Sydney.

FWIW I think GWS would have smacked Port last night too. Very unlucky they got put on the harder side of the finals draw.

The only reason hawks was a ‘good win’ was because people expected so little from Port after their embarrassing showing against Geelong at home.

They finished 2nd on the ladder, and they were never really in either Geelong or Sydney games. Fell over the line against a 7th placed travelling side.

I think they implode from here. Given it a few cracks and they’re not any closer even after (trying) to address their weaknesses with defenders and ruckman. They know they can’t do it with the game plan when heat turns up. Surely this is where Ken ‘loses’ the players and is sacked half way through the year.
