Baseball is a dumb sport.

Cubs have lost 9 of our last 10 series, off the back of great starting pitching that would have a good hitting lineup leading any division.
You think that's dumb, the Mets are terrible and yet are leading 11-2 over the Rangers, out of nowhere.

Crazy sport haha.

Our closer pitching with a 6-4 lead, just gave up a 3 run home run where one of the base runners reached base off catchers interference. Craig Counsell might be the first person in history that is regretting taking $40 million.

At least we can have comedy. From a Cubs forum:

“2024 Hector Neris making 2004 Latroy Hawkins look like Mariano Rivera. Jesus ****ing Christ.”

😂

Grew up poor to become the best player in an era when black people were still largely barred from the sport.

Would have 800 HRs if he didn't play at Candlestick Park.

Vale the GOAT

Strictly not MLB, but I have been watching the Men's College World Series on ESPN. Haven't quite finished game 2 of the World Series between Tennesee and Texas A&M, so no spoilers please (for anyone else who has been watching it). Been some really good baseball played. It's a shame that Oregon State didn't make it into the final eight because it would have been nice to see Travis Bazzana play. However, there have been quite a few draft-eligible players do their stuff at the World Series, so it's been good to see them play before they disappear into the minor leagues later this year after the draft.

Such a nice tribute to Willie Mays before the start of the Giants/Cubs game. And then there was a moment of silence. It was at that point that the Cubs broadcaster, Marquee, decided to go to a commercial break. It seemed like a good time to go to a break. 🙄

Speaking of the cubbies, we had a fun time with them this week ;)

Won today against the Giants and had to endure about 2 hours of some guy right behind home plate yelling out to all the Giants players with words of encouragement (both in English and Spanish) and it was all completely audible. Every. Single. At. Bat. 😂

Aaron Judge another home run in a one run loss.
Every time he plays,he homers now it seems, phenomenal batter.

Hopefully my dream of a Dodgers Yankees WS comes true though Yankees are going through a mini slump atm.

I remember the amazing 1981 WS.

You can also look it up on you tube.

Dodgers crowd went crazy.
