Yes, I think so. I have Foxtel not Kayo, so I'm not 100% sure it would work, but I think you'll need a Foxtel subscription, not a Kayo subscription, to watch games not involving Australia, because you log in to watchESPN using your Foxtel subscription information (based on my experience watching games on watchESPN last year).

Pete Crow-Armstrong is fast. He hit a ball to the 2nd base fielder who dived for it and grabbed it just passed the infield dirt, the fielder throws to 1st base but it’s a shit throw and the ball starts rolling and ends up behind home plate. PCA made it to third base.

This would be huge for Australian baseball.
I wish Mead was picked for Australia's team for the WBC because I think the side is lacking power and Mead has power. But I can understand why the Rays (presumably) told him he couldn't play in the WBC, since it seems like he is on the cusp of making the MLB.

The Texas Rangers announced yesterday that they have traded INF Mark Mathias to the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for a player to be named later. Mathias was designated for assignment over the weekend to open a spot on the roster for newly signed reliever Will Smith.
The Pirates announced that RHP Max Kranick, who is recovering from Tommy John surgery, has been put on the 60-day IL to make room for Mathias.
Mathias joins the Pirates with a minor league option and five years of team control remaining. He first played in the major leagues for the Brewers in 2020, and then again in 2022 before joining the Rangers. He has only 127 plate appearances under his belt but has hit .256/.307/.462 with six homeruns, six doubles a 7.1% walk rate and a 29.1% strikeout rate. Mathias missed the entire 2021 season while with the Brewers after he had surgery to a torn labrum. The Brewers traded Mathias to the Rangers at the deadline in exchange for RHP Matt Bush.
Mathias brings versatility to the Pirates, having played all three outfield positions and all four infield positions (albeit he has only one professional inning of centre field on his resume). He was shuffled around the diamond by his previous teams, never having more than 51 innings in one particular spot on the field (despite having a total of 292 innings on the field).
Mathias played mostly second base in the minors and the Pirates will need some reinforcing at that position.

Veteran Mitch Moreland officially announced his retirement overnight. He played 12 years in the MLB, having been selected by the Texas Rangers in the 17th round of the 2007 draft. He was in the big leagues in 2010 and his high batting average and slugging helped the Rangers reach the World Series, where they lost to the Giants 4-1. In addition to playing for Texas, Moreland also played for the Red Sox, the Padres and the Athletics. He won a Gold Glove for his work at first base with the Rangers and was named an All-Star with the Red Sox in 2018 on his way to winning a World Series ring with Boston that same year. Most memorably, Moreland hit a pinch-hit, three run homerun against the Dodgers in Game 4 of the World Series at Dodgers Stadium, a blast that helped the Red Sox score nine runs en route to a comeback victory.
The Red Sox traded Moreland to the Padres during the shortened 2020 season and his batting efforts weren't particularly productive, though he did find his stroke during the post-season (going 4-for-8 with a double). He signed a one-year deal with the Athletics for the 2021 season, but played just 82 games thanks to a combination of injuries. Moreland went unsigned in the 2022 season.
All told, during the regular season, Moreland hit 186 home runs, 219 doubles and nine triples among his 1,020 hits. He had 618 runs batted in and scored 527 runs himself. Moreland added 150 plate appearances through 52 post-season games, batting .259/.329/.422 in the post-season.

Diamond Sports Group, the corporation that owns 14 Bally Sports regional sports networks, is expected to file for bankruptcy this week. The MLB is already preparing to broadcast the games that would have been broadcast on Bally Sports itself, since it was clear that Diamond Sports Group was in trouble financially (it missed interest payments worth approximately $140 million to creditors in February).

Trevor Bauer has agreed to a one-year, $4 million contract with the Yokohama DeNA BayStars of the NPB. Bauer was previously suspended under the MLB joint domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse policy, until the suspension was reduced to time already served on Bauer's appeal.

The Angels have released 28 year old catcher, Jose Godoy. He had been signed by the Angels to a minor league deal in the off-season after being outrighted by the Pirates in October 2022. He's been a member of the Cardinals, Mariners, Twins and Pirates organisations, so he will be looking to catch on with his sixth MLB organisation. In 10 seasons in the minor leagues, Godoy has hit .272/.351/.366. He only has 26 games of MLB experience, hitting .123/.194/.140 in his limited time in the big show.

The Atlanta Braves announced that RHP Ian Anderson and Bryce Elder have been optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett, reducing the number of players at Braves Spring Training to 50 players. Anderson and Elder were both in the running to be the fifth starter for the Braves, behind Max Fried, Spencer Strider, Kyle Wright and Charlie Morton, but it appears that their poor performances during Spring Training plus strong performances from Jared Shuster and Dylan Dodd have pushed them out of the running. Anderson, of course, started game 6 of the 2020 World Series, but his career has taken a turn for the worse in 2022, posting an ERA of 5.00. Elder has 54 innings of MLB experience in 2022, posting 3.17 ERA and inducing ground balls at the rate of 49.3% of the time.

The Detroit Tigers have placed LHP Tarik Skubal on the 60 day IL and have claimed RHP Freddy Pacheco off waivers from the Cardinals to fill his place on the roster. Pacheco is a reliever who was added to the Cardinals' roster in November 2021 to protect him from the Rule 5 draft. Pacheco has had strong performances in the minor leagues, pitching a 3.67 ERA in 54 innings in 2021 between Class A Advanced, Double-A and Triple-A, as well as a 3.05 ERA in 62 innings between Double-A and Triple-A in 2022.
Skubal had flexor tendon surgery in August 2022 and is still recuperating. The timeline on his return is unclear, but having been placed on the 60-day IL, he will now not be available until late May at the earliest, since the 60 days don't start counting down until Opening Day.
The Cardinals now have an open slot on their 40-man roster with two weeks to go until Opening Day.

Former Oakland Athletic infielder Ernie Clement has signed a minor league deal with the Toronto Blue Jays, who have invited him to Spring Training. Clement went 2-for-11 with a walk, a strikeout and a stolen base in spring training with the Athletics, who had claimed him off waivers from the Cleveland Guardians in September 2022. Clement has had 312 plate appearances in 109 MLB games for the Guardians and Athletics, posting a .204/.261/.264 batting line in that time. He's versatile, having played at all four infield positions and has posted plus defensive grades in a small sample size at third base. He's most likely to start the season at Triple-A Buffalo.

The Washington Nationsl have extended Keibert Ruiz. He has signed an eight-year contract with the Nationals, including a pair of club options for 2031 and 2032. The full financial breakdown is not yet known, but it is reported that the deal is somewhat front-loaded. Ruiz will receive a signing bonus, and will earn $7 million in 2028, and $9 million in each of the 2029 and 2030 seasons. The second year of the extension has a higher salary than Ruiz would normally receive in a last pre-arb year. The minimum guarantee under the contract is $50 million.
