I must admit, I had zero idea that's how old that stadium was.

I remember both the San Francisco Giants and Chicago White Sox threatening their respective cities that they would move to St Pete if they didn't pony up for a new ballpark to replace Candlestick Park and Old Comiskey Park.

Oracle Park on McCovey Cove is a definite upgrade over Candlestick, but I preferred Old Comiskey over New Comiskey / Guaranteed Rate Field.

MLB won't want the Yankees and Red Sox doing cross-country trips to play the Rays. It's also patently obvious that the MLB wanted major league baseball out of Oakland and were prepared to bend over backwards to facilitate the abandonment of Oakland by the Athletics. They're not going to give their blessing to the Rays playing home games at Oakland.
