dermie just said "foot pace"

what's the diff between foot speed and pace?
Similar to 'what is the difference between a trotter and pacer' in harness racing? Who ****ing knows :) Maybe it's a variant of leg speed, in that the person has quick feet when they dance? ;-)

I've had enough of "with the outside of the boot". Commetti started it, Peter Matera's goal was probably the most memorable one, Whately is running with it now as are many others. I'm not sure when you kick a banana you strictly use the outside of the boot in any case, it's more that you drop the ball at an angle across the boot and less of the ball is over the boot compared with the drop punt. I'd be happy to see that one shelved for while.

D Russell :
  • "Is that the firestarter!??" (****en what?)
  • "Ohhh, baby!!!" (Dwayne, you are not at high school any more)
  • "Gave that some shoe" (?????)
  • "Plenty of sky" (yes, I can confirm there is plenty of sky)
  • "Goal of the year!!!" (30 times a ****ing season)
  • "That is sheer genius, can you believe that??!!" (often for Cyril doing something not altogether remarkable)
D Frawley :
  • "Straight over the umpires hat" (5 times a game, 22 games a season)
  • "Correct weight Dwayne" (please dont encourage him)
  • etc
  • etc
  • etc

I always thought a banana was with the inside of the boot while the outside of the boot was a checkside.

Years ago someone told me that the term "checkside" originated in SA and actually meant kicking backwards defensively

When the term came to Vic the meaning was changed to kicking with the outside of the foot

"What do you think (insert coaches name) is thinking right now?"

Probably how to win, or stop the flow of goals... you don't need to point that out.

While were at it, stop showing me the coach on the phone, I don't care.

Nah!
Then you avoid the fun of watching the Scott Bros. and Mick doing their nut.
We got 2 weeks out of 3 with the Scott Brothers! Was marvelous watching them.

Right on. You use the exact same part of your boot to kick a checkside as what you do for a drop punt.
