This post highlights how ignorant one person can be ..absolutey ludicrous that somebody who has NFI about football is here posting on a football forum .

The best player needs to come from the forwards ??? How stupid and inane is this statement ???

Bartel Ablett and co are great footballers and may end up being just as good as Judd, but to say they are now better allround footballers shows incredible ignorance.
Your best argument and the one i think you should have went with is

" Judd plays for Carlton and i dislike them , plus he knocked my club back because of their off field culture."

at least you would have been a little bit believable .

the underrated overrated debate ends up as people arguing over talents of players. Its all media hype and crap. If your a half decent player in melbourne you get talked about more in the main footy media than interstate side players.

Judd sometimes ends up being discussed as a near god in the press, he is an awesome player, and its not his fault he gets all the hype but he is probably overrated due to the extremes some reports go.

Someone like goodwin is underrated probably because being at the crows he slips under the radar a little, like riccutio (sp) did in comparison to hird, buckley and co.

I think the most underrated player in the comp at times is joel corey, purely because of the hype around his team mates.

I have one player that I think is so overrated is not funny and this is M Pavlich. Yeah sure he kicks his bags but its when the team is not in contention. People continually put him in the all australian team but for what ??

Each team has over and under rated players. Some players are said to be so overrated by many that they could in fact be under rated. See Tmabling. The way many go on its suprsing this guy can breathe let alone by AFL.

I totally agree, there is no way Chris Judd is overrated, the things he can do on a football field, the best player in the comp. Anyone who says Judd is overrated please give a reasonable explanation as to why, because in my mind, there is no way Judd is overrated :s

If you dont think he is the best player in the comp ,or the most valuable player in the comp, and you are allowed to think that as far as I know, then you will automatically think he is overrated because you disagree with everyone else who thinks he is the best thing since sliced bread.
It might be only slightly overrated but it is still overrated.
Personally I think a lot of people get overrated confused with overhyped, and Judd is definitely overhyped.

FWIW I think Fevola is overhyped, overpaid and overrated.

Otherwise i would kust like to say that I think it would have been great to be around when they invented sliced bread. Furthermore, what was the best thing before they invented it??

I think Dustin Fletcher the last few seasons has been overrated. Primarily plays loose collecting cheap ball.

At this stage, Darren Glass is overrated too. Good, honest, reliable defender, but I think his traditionlist style of FB play has drawn a lot of delight from fans and the media alike, but to be frank he isn't that good in my book. Very, very average for a long time, then rose when the Eagles did.

Also whenever he was playing an accountable role and even looked like being beaten Sheedy would move him.

A lot of North Players are massively overrated. But we continue to win so there is obvious talent there. Here are a few:

Interesting points, an underrated defender also is Max Hudghton from the saints. has been a great full-back for ages but never really got the credit he deserves. one of the best spoilers in the game, adapted to the new rules well, and has incredible closing speed for someone his age. great player, puts his heart and soul into this game.

Max Hudghton is an exceptional defender, and it has really disappointed me to see his career constantly interrupted by injuries. He has never recieved the kudos he deserves. Very versatile, had the best closing speed of any FB in the league (and is still right up there), and a good spoiler. Love Maxxy. Doesn't concede alot of goals either. Won the "Reverse Coleman" in 2006.

You don't need 'numbers' to win a brownlow. It's not the fantasy player of the year award. You need umpires votes and Goodsey got more of them than any of your blokes... Twice.

Firrito is terribly overrated. Conceded the most goals in the AFL last year by a fair margin. Very tough, dedicated player, but well and truly out of his depth in a key defensive post. Isn't a FB and shouldn't be playing there, reminds me a lot of Leo Barry in that sense.

For nearly winning the Coleman in a team that came 12th.

Since moving to CHF from CHB at end of 04 has averaged 18 disposals, over 8 marks, around 3 goals, and around .7 brownlow votes a game. These stats have held up if the team has made the 8 or not made the 8.

Can play back, forward or midfield (pinch hitter).

But yes so over rated it is not funny.
