Stop making stuff up. There's 12000 extra seats - so your saying there's 12000 restricted viewing seats.

Re currently seated members, that process starting now after medical reason seats. Not February. As per the doco, Noteholders that are grouping with non-noteholders are considered normal members - so it's based on group leader length of service, same as everyone else

On SM-G950F using BigFooty.com mobile app
I suspect Boondy is just being facetious, as we are all just so impatient!

Point 3 is true. Allocation order is based on the longest serving member. It's in the process PDF from West Coast.

It's not ideal, but I can't think of a better way to do it. Maybe the 'average' length of memberships in a group would have been an option.
That could be a bit ridiculous say if in a group of 8 and 7 have only been members for 3 years but 1 is a 30 year member, then the whole group gets preference over a 25 year member/s!! Not happy Jan.

I think the people looking after seat allocation and where best available is have no idea at all. They should never have allocated any seats at all. In your window that is when you should of had the choice where to sit yourself that would have been the best way and fairest way to do it.
It seems to be a fairly common occurrence. I remember the 05 GF which we went to, as noteholders got first access to tickets and with best available ended up at the back of the first tier behind the goals. How the hell does one end up on a wing??

But yes, regarding the allocation it was pretty disappointing to be seated where we were initially but hey. ALso trying to pick seats to a stadium none of us have ever been too I think will turn out poorly for some people.

As an aside, I really don't get the blue and gold club etc being on the southern side looking into the sun - what's that about?

I thought the sun set in the west . Isnt the club at subi kind of south east

Well yes it does rise on the E and Set in the W. Although because we are so earth centric the Sun doesn't actually rise or set - just being a smart A on the minor technicality.;) It is the rotation of the Earth.

However, in the Winter solstice the sun appears in the E horizon / sky and makes an arc across towards the W horizon / sky. The arc (if you can imagine) has a pronounced tilt towards the N. In the Summer solstice the Sun follows the same path (obviously) but the arc is now more "upright" i.e. between the N and S.

It goes like this (rough explanation);
Summer Solstice making a path from E to W with the arc of the path being nearly overhead.
Autumn Equinox making a path from E to W and the arc starts to "lay down" or tilt towards the N.
Winter Solstice - making a path from E to W the arc very much tilted or "laying down" further towards the N.
Spring Equinox - making a path from E to W the arc is now back in the same position as it was in the Autumn Equinox but it is now returning to the Summer Solstice position.

I think I got most of that right.

Anyway, all done and dusted, that diagram on the virtual ground showing the sun creating an ellipse shaped area of brightness on the S and E sides is probably reasonably accurate. The crucial part will be, of course, the time that the game is on. Later in the day during the Winter Solstice and the effect will not be that pronounced. Midday game - well that might mean some sun for a while. Me - I would be happy with 4.40pm (or later) starts as the arc of the path of the sun will be in it's lower 2 fifths and laying right over towards the N.

If you're wondering why I have bothered with the solar science stuff - it is because I am covering every angle before I choose my seats and am happy to share my research with other Bigfooty posters. Hoping for a good Tuesday or Wednesday (email telling me seat secure window is open):D

Not sure why people would pay the $6000 per season stadium membership (min 5 years).

Obviously the WCE games are good, but all you'd get on top of that is Freo games, occasional cricket and a handful of concerts (I assume). AFL Finals & a few other things seem to be excluded.

I agree, no finals is ridiculous! Probably more a cheaper option for businesses to take clients etc?

Im sure this has been speculated upon previously in this forum (but im not going back thru 40 pages to find it), where do all you learned fellow Eagles supporters reckon the line will be drawn for ITW members. My take is: currently approx 39,000 seated members; despite the huge demand for tix, just for logistical and demographic reasons I'm gonna assume a 2% attrition of members due to the move (no science to this whatsoever, just a thought), therefore the base number is 39k - 780 = 38,220. New stadium will have 50,000 full season seated ticketed members, meaning 11,780 new tickets available. So every ITW member will have accesss to 2 x adult 2 x Children tix, therefore worst case scenario is 11780/4 = 2945 will be the cut off mark for ITW members. However i think it is safe to assume that the average take up wont be 4 tix, what the average will be is hard to decide. I dont imagine there will be many one ticket sign ups, 2 is prob the most common number, however four will be far more common than 1. Again with not much science I'm gonna say an average of 2.75, that would reset the equation at 11780/2.75, and therefore the cutoff mark at 4,283. If so, it seems for all the cost and messaging around expanded access for fans, there are still going to be a huge amount of dissapointed people who cant get tix, with demand only going to grow over the years, happy to hear anyone elses thoughts. Go Eagles!!

I did a similar post. My guesstimate is about 6,000, with a slightly higher attrition rate due to the cost increases

In The Wings is ludicrous.
Waiting for membership is a farce.

Surely we are the only club with a group of people paying good money to sit in a que with little hope or anything to show for what is thousand dollars over years of waiting just so they can then financially support the club and actually get something in return.

****en shits me off about our club.
No better than the MCC or AFL itself.

With a new stadium and another 12,000 seats. All 6,000 ITW members should be offered something.
It has gone on long enough. Getting seats at Subi was hardly worth the wait but now there's no excuses.

Give the people what they want, what they deserve. Take their money you ****in criminals and play the ****ing good FFS

PS. Thanks for returning the wings and the new logo. Love you WCE

I am pretty sure I have been an ITW member for 4 years now. The last time the club sent me an email to update me about the list movement I was around #10200. Where does the 6000 ITW members number come from? I had assumed the 10199 places in front of me would have the additional (up to 3) tickets per place meaning I would possibly get seats in around 25 years.

We spent 8 years in the wings. From memory we started at about 8000 and had just dropped under 3000 the year before we were offered seats. Dunno how that worked because I think only 7 or 800 didn't renew that year. I think the capacity for movement on the list is greater with the new stadium given price and crowd size.

ITW is the same as a non-seated membership for other clubs, where you still get your membership pack etc. We may be the only club with a 'queue', but we aren't the only club with non-seated members.

Also, pretty sure the ITW list is actually over 10,000, not 6,000.

Sorry. I thought there was only 6000 or so.

Other clubs have non seated members but do they have a membership category which is just a que of people waiting for seats?

The teams at the G wouldn't. Most of the teams that call Etihad shouldn't.

My point is, it is the same category of membership - we've just added a queue number too it. You're still paying for a non-seated membership, just like other clubs have - we just view differently because it also adds you to a waitlist. People forget they are actually paying for 'a non-seated membership', not just being in a queue. That doesn't mean it doesn't suck, just a more holistic view of it.

Edit: Looks like you pay an extra $20 to go on waitlist, plus exclusive access to tickets, club events (on top of a normal non-seated membership)

Most teams don't have the same demand for membership that West Coast do.
