Round 1 New
Season 39 R1.png
This season tgrs is providing the lovely write ups and I'm doing the numbers. Most of the stats will be self explanatory except Head to Head. Those around last year might remember that the score is calculated by taking your DT total and that of your starting opponent, if yours is higher the difference is added to your number, if yours is lower the difference is subtracted.

Our opponent for the round was the Gumbies, we had 23 individual Demons post for a total of 732 posts which was 66.67% of the thread total. A great effort to start the season off.

Round 1 - Gumbies FFC 11.13.79 defeated by Mt Buller Demons 21.18.144

The Season 38 Minor Premiers are back with a stylish first up defense of the trophy at the House of Gumby after some scintillating performances both on and off the field.

Incoming Delons Captain Gralin had been busy in the off-season recruiting some stars, and the new trio of All Aust , Armitage2Riewoldt and Kurve showed why they were such great signings immediately. All Aust was impressive with his match thread posting with 17 high quality posts, and a key part of the stingy Demons defence, Armitage2Riewoldt added to the Gumbies misery with 2 debut goals whilst dominating his match opponent in Head 2 Head, and Kurve looked extremely dangerous in the forward line before being shafted blessed with an interchange rotation next to former captain Headless .

Delon of the Week?

21 majors in the first week of Season 39 is a formidable statement to the rest of the league and it was spearheaded by new Full Forward but Demons veteran Yakker , who managed 8 majors and 13 shots on goal in total to go with a brilliant first up 85 posts in a much welcomed return to prominence for the fishing extraordinaire. As wise people often say, hand him the Yakk right now for most goals in the Sweet F.A.

Posting

The dynamic duo of Gralin and Wosh led the way in match thread posting with 156 and 104 posts respectively as the excitement of the Sweet F.A's return led to utter domination from the entire team in the match thread, with 15 Demons posting over 10 times throughout the course of the week. Our leaders were well supported by moginie who is absolutely a lock for a classy half century almost every week, Headless the prevailer who just missed out on his own half ton, which was his intention so mark that down as another success, and it was awesome to see sante getting in amongst it as well, as the league is a much better place when at least one of the emus is running amok during the season.

The return of cats2rise is another reason to celebrate after a well deserved break, in this writer's humble opinion, unlucky to miss out on the Beez last season (you're still #1 in my heart), BULK quality posts from the legend and a quality half century was a highlight to be remembered.

Rounding out the top 10 was the quality of Proper Gander , Season 38 All SFA champ DERO , and tgrs, continuing their strong end of last season form and helping to start Season 39 with a bang.

Match Stats

The aforementioned Yakker was abolustely on fire, being the only Demon to crack 100+ DreamTeam points, however it was a well rounded team performance that led to the Gumbies thrashing with contributors from all over the ground.

Last Seasons SFACA MVP Award winner p4p1 chipped in a handy 98 DreamTeam points and four majors from the midfield. Former Demons captain manangatang also managed a tackle for every 5 posts, so we humbly encourage him to reach 200 + next week.

cats2rise , Hate and club stalwart cooney and sante absolutely dominated their Head 2 Head match ups. Proper Gander was the leading disposal getter on the ground for Mt. Buller in her new role in the oft-praised engine room with 24. moginie was a tackling machine, as would be expected from last seasons Moggs Medalist, a back to back is on the cards in more ways then one in Mt. Buller this season. He was ably supported by jmoo wan against his former team who laid 3 bone crunching tackles of his own.

Beautiful work tgrs and Gralin ! Thank you so much for doing this for us ❤️

Wonderful way to start S39 and on a side note whilst perusing Hate ’s stats I also noticed it was cooney ’s 520th MBD game, second only to Headless 534!
