If I were wealthy I would do this.

I know there are heaps of groups and organisations that fund this stuff, but it's almost like it doesn't get enough attention. Like, if there was a cafe on a strip that I know did this, I would be more likely to buy a coffee from there.

I know taxes and all that, but it would be great if local, state and fed governments developed this type of thing at scale and advertised it more. How good would it be if governments gave tax breaks to private entities that did this? (they probably do already to some extent)

In Geelong we've got a cafe called DAL (Dial-A-Lunch) that's been operating since 1991

Marie Kuchenmeister OAM was the driving force behind it, and when it originally opened it was with her, 2 part time supervisors and four young adults with disabilities

During the years they've undergone expansions to become a Gourmet Café & Catering company, by 2003 they opened at a second location & were employing 50 young adults with disabilities

Unfortunately the second location closed after a decade, but they've opened another second location in Geelong and that's where they also do the catering. They also run the school canteens for two local high schools and good luck getting a seat during lunch on a work day as they're always packed
