Let’s be real here why couldn’t they all just get fines and “suspended” match bans. I get the PR side but do we need players suspended as it is players get banned for making a tackle these days
They suspend the fringe players and youngsters and give the 'stars' a slap on the wrist, all very tactical.

They wont be having any more sportsmans nights youd think.

"We have a private function room but will release CCTV footage".

Priivate function room just means it's only for people who booked or were invited.

it doesn't literally mean anything goes.

So you'd be happy if the AFL brought in yet another empty virtue signaling initiative to let us all know Murder is wrong & we shouldn't do it?
I have no issue with them raising money for domestic violence.
Do you have an issue with them raising money for kids cancer? What’s the point of difference there for you? Is it not about the charity work as much as you don’t like being morally postured on? But what is the difference between funding a kid to get hospital care and funding a kid to escape domestic violence? Why does the AFL supporting that make you want to undermine it?

If we’re all gonna roll with a world in which problems can only be addressed by throwing money at them then yeah I would hope the mega rich, biggest sporting league in Australia does their bit to throw money at the issues.

I think most would agree with this But they didn't see it as offensive or pushing the boundaries clearly as they wouldn't of done it would they.
What upsets you might no upset me. What you might do at a party or a private gathering is different to what I might do.

Until we actually know what really happened it's hard to make a firm judgement, but if it's some guys in a private room at a private function taking the mickey out of some things they may not mention in a public function then i have no issue with it.
And if someone is offended then thats on them to simply be offended.
Oh, I reckon they had a fair idea. And went ahead with it anyway.

I mean, they are not real smart. They know what the modern world is like, particularly for the AFL footballer, and that it only takes one person to witness something and then complain for the **** to hit the fan. And guess what? It has.

People can argue (with merit) that the modern world shouldn't be like that, but it is. And until it changes, our AFL footballing friends need to operate within that current framework.

They can easily have a great day without setting themselves up for the grief we are seeing at the moment.

No more footy club end of season pissups there, yeah. But I suspect they would be fine with that

or footy players can grow some smarts and realise that its probably not the best of ideas to do bizzare roleplaying in a public venue (despite being in a private room) with cameras?

The problem is, it is up to us to change it. It shouldn't be like that, and it won't be like that if people actually call out this psychopathic desire to control others behaviors.

I don't care about the AFL & Clubs raising money etc..... What I care about is being constantly bombarded with empty virtue signaling by a Sporting Competition whose first priority should be ENTERTAINMENT & then treats PARODY by players at their end of season wind, as bad as actually doing the ACTUAL CRIME.

If the AFL gave a ****, how about just banning Tarryn Thomas for life, from playing AFL for bringing the game into disrepute. I don't think any reasonable person would have a problem with that

My biggest issue is that thr AFL want the kudos for the domestic violence stuff but continue to allow the public be bombarded by gambling ads. Gambling being a leading cause of domestic violence.

It is shitty to be moralised to by an organisation that doesn't live the message.
