TIMELINE

Thursday 16 February:
Service revolver obtained for user pays event. Was stored at mother's as per regulations.

Sunday 19 February: User pays event.

Monday 20 February: The murders at Baird's Paddington rental.

Monday 19 February: Police have alleged gunshots were heard from a house in Paddington, Sydney in the morning. Four minutes after the first shots were fired there was a 000 call made from Jessie's phone around 9.45am, but it disconnected. Police said there was "no communication" during that call.

Monday evening: Police have alleged Lamarre-Condon hired a white Hiace van from Sydney Airport.

Tuesday 20 February: Police have alleged that partial admissions were made by Lamarre-Condon to an acquaintance of having been involved in the death of two individuals.

Service revolver was returned to Balmain & later transferred to original storage.

Wednesday 21 February: Bloodied clothing belonging to both victims and an $8000 watch were found in a skip bin in the southern Sydney suburb of Cronulla. Police launch a missing persons investigation and the homicide unit is notified

Later same Wednesday: Police have alleged Lamarre-Condon attended the Bungonia area with an acquaintance who police believed assisted him in purchasing an angle grinder and padlock from a local hardware store in that area, before driving to a rural property in Bungonia.

Police said the "small" angle grinder was used to sever a padlock from the gate of that particular rural property and then that padlock was replaced with a padlock purchased from the hardware store.

The acquaintance was left at the top of the property for 30 minutes. The accused disappeared for that period in the Hiace van, returning to pick up the acquaintance and then they returned to Sydney later that afternoon. Police said the acquaintance was assisting them in their inquiries, that she is not a suspect, and they believe she was an "innocent agent".

Wednesday 11pm: Police have said that evening, weights were purchased from a department store by the accused and it is believed that the accused returned to that rural property overnight and during that evening, having also acquired two torches from the acquaintance.

Thursday 22 February: Police have alleged they can place the accused leaving the Bungonia area again at 4.30am. "It would appear that the accused has remained in the city area, still in control of the white Hiace van, before attending a further acquaintance's premises in the Newcastle area and without fully disclosing any criminality, asked access to a hose to clean that van," Hudson said.

Friday 23 February: At 10.39am, Lamarre-Condon presents himself at Bondi Police Station where he was arrested and subsequently charged.

More on the pre AFL history of missing Jesse Baird's Aussie Rules goal umpiring and that he was also an Aussie Rules player.

Jesse Baird – new goal umpire in QLD

December 6, 2019

As one of two new goal umpires to join the AFL list in Queensland, Jesse Baird is keen for season 2020 to start so that he can get out and strut his stuff on the big stage.

Like many others who started out in umpiring, Jesse felt it was a great way to earn some extra cash on weekends plus it allowed him to improve his level of fitness for playing. Jesse played for Diamond Creek Junior Football Club for 9 years and 2 years senior football with the Diamond Creek Football Club in the Northern Football and Netball League.

He started umpiring in 2011 whilst in Melbourne and continued until moving to Brisbane for work at the beginning of 2017. When he arrived in Brisbane, Jesse had every intention of playing football again, but he didn’t want to get injured for work, so he made the more prudent decision to fully focus on goal umpiring.

Jesse’s achievements include the NFNL Division 1 Senior Grand Final in 2015, the 2018 Under 18’s National Carnival, the AFL grand final curtain raiser in 2018, and the 2018 and 2019 NEAFL grand finals. His career highlight has been the two state-league grand finals.

Jesse finds it incredible to be umpiring alongside AFL list umpires in Queensland. By observing their level of professionalism and their commitment to training is certainly something that has helped Jesse over the last 3 years. Influential people on his career to date include current AFL Queensland Goal Umpire Coach Garry Downes and also Neville Coutts, who is the current game record holder in the NFNL. His advice for upcoming umpires is to believe in yourself and believe that getting to AFL level is possible, provided you are willing to accept that it requires hard work and persistence.

Jesse graduated from Loyola College in Watsonia in 2015 and is currently employed as a Network 10 presenter on the National Children’s show ‘Totally Wild’. Jesse competes in water-ski racing and his interests include water-skiing, motor bike riding, swimming, going to the beach and grabbing a meal with mates.

All the best Jesse for the year ahead. Enjoy the experience!

Van wanted.

The image of the van looks like it was taken from near the Paddington house where the crime scene was established. Interestingly in this clip, it shows a white forensics police van outside, near a similar wrought iron fence that you see with terraces.

I wonder if Condon owns a white van, he took one from the pool the police use or he hired one?

The cop is sounding awfully guilty. Coincidentally takes sick leave over the weekend, one of the missing persons described him as a "stalker" to friends and then can’t be found. Hopefully this is not a double homicide

POI Constable Lamarre was a former celebrity blogger prior to joining NSW Police.

From what I have gathered, from observations of all the people I know who have been rejected/accepted, they hire with the intent to take on the easily manipulated so they can mould them into what they need them to be. The ones I know that were accepted are very much sheep and yes men; the rejected have been more opinionated and outspoken than the prior.

Also haven't they said his mother was senior in the force?

It also shows a bit of the (unsurprisingly) ugly world of influencers. He apparently came out by getting in the front row of a Lady Gaga concert and throwing her a note for her to read to everyone at the concert, then used this to spring a career of influencing, with pictures of a glamorous life catching private planes etc. I don't think someone who really lives that life then becomes a police officer, and apparently hangs out outside a home a Kardashian is staying at even while serving in order to get a picture of her out the front.

Anyway, an enormous amount of sympathy for any innocents here, and also not wanting to say too much ill of anyone related (initial reports read as though Jesse Baird might have been the perpetrator but that now seems unlikely).

Latest update is: "A man is in custody in relation to the urgent search for missing television presenter Jesse Baird and his Qantas flight attendant boyfriend."

Apparently he presented himself.

It’d be awkward if he hadn’t even seen the news and had just come in for his shift.
He was not on shift he was on sick leave. Handed himself in after what more than twelve hours of being wanted.

love to know how he passed his testing for the police force! maybe the senior mum got him through with a few favours. Going from celebrity chaser to cop seema a stretch
The ex-detective that I spoke to last weekend told me that of this years recruits here in Victoria, only 30% were 100% up to scratch. I can't imagine it would be any different in NSW.
It is getting harder to recruit for all emergency services.
Obviously the recruitment process favours legacy recruits as they already generally know what the job entails on the personal level. he would still have had to pass exactly the same tests as the other recruits. (Checkout 'Blue Lights' SBS on Demand to see how legacy recruits can go wrong btw)
Also considering what modern policing is, someone who is tech savy has a place and we all change from when we were younger and aspired to be something else. I read somewhere that his generation is expected to have 6 career changes in their working life not the 4 of my generation.

DMail just updated:

Celebrity chaser and police officer Beau Lamarre-Condon will be charged with the murder of Channel 10 presenter Jesse Baird and his boyfriend Luke Davies.

Police will allege he shot the pair with his police gun and disposed of the bodies in a white Toyota van which was located in Grays Point, in Sydney's south, on Friday.

The single bullet that was discharged at Mr Baird's Paddington townhouse has been matched to a gun that was returned to a locked safe at a police station on Tuesday.

Cont:
Police will allege Lamarre-Condon shot the couple sometime after they were last seen on Sunday night before hiring a white Toyota Hiace Van from Mascot at 9.30pm on Monday night and driving to Mr Baird's home.

'Police located a projectile at the premises which had been discharged and also a fire cartridge case,' Detective Superintendent Danny Doherty told media on Friday.

'This has now been physically matched to NSW Police firearm and forms part of the evidence for the alleged facts to face court for this 28-year-old man.'

Superintendent Doherty said the Toyota van had been used to transport the bodies of Mr Baird and Mr Davies, which are yet to be found.

He said the families of the men had been informed they had been killed, adding it was a 'very tough day' for their loved ones.

Lamarre-Condon took a day off from his duties in a NSW Police specialist command on Tuesday and did not return on Wednesday.

Superintendent Doherty said a triple-zero call had been made to emergency services but could not confirm whether it was made by Lamarre-Condon.

He will be formally refused bail by police and face court on Friday or Saturday.
