Whats peoples thoughts on only announcing the clubs that have the finals each weekend and not allocating each game.
eg. first week Rumba & Toc to host
If Rumba finish 3rd then Toc would hold that game and Rumba the other
2nd week Tongala & Deni
If Deni finish Top 2 then they play 2nd Semi at Tonny, If Deni finished 3 to 6 and won first week then 1st Semi would be at Tonny.

As is we could have Rumba playing a home final and Deni might have a home final in the 2nd week. Not a big fan on clubs getting home finals, but has happened a few times of late. Surely if possible you would play them at a neutral venue.

Luck of the draw hank??

Good to see the league taKing a strong stance against racial abuse/ must be consistent now though and go both ways

Sounds good Hank, problem is host clubs need to organize volunteers to host the finals and without a definite date it makes it a more difficult job, particularly if the host club doesn't make the finals.
Tocumwal have home ground advantage in any grand final as does Shepp & Shepp united in the GV.

yes realise the logistics of it, but at worst the clubs get a week's notice to know if they are holding the game on a Sunday or Saturday. Realise the GF scenario's, thats just a given, but believe its unfair with the other finals, especially when a side finishes higher on the ladder and they have to play the lower ranked side at their home ground. Its not going to be a drama every week of the finals and most years you wont run into clashes, but if at all possible it should be avoided in my opinion. Not a big deal but worth some thought maybe.

A Strong Stance?? An AFL player gets 4 weeks for racial abuse and a MFL player gets 6 weeks for Racial abuse, How the bloody hell does that work??? I believe that players should be punished for any form of racial abuse but make the sentence fair at least. Also I believe that players that get abused for their body height, small or tall / Body size fat or skinny, also other personall attacks should also be looked at. The league has now set the standard so they need to make sure all players are aware and all players abide by this ruling and dont let other incidents "if any" slide.

Ya got that right King, absolute JOKE, They call it KANGAROO COURT, if my memeory serves me right.
from what I heard it was dun and dusted b4 there was any mediation between clubs, no chance to apoligise, Also conflicting stories from the 'Witnesses'. They were out to prove a point, which is FAIR enough, if it was true, but, from what I heard it wasn't. MANY things are said in the heat of battle, mabey someone wanted to hear what they heard, I dunno, Ive heard some pretty rugged remarks about the person in question, so mabey he should start taking names, NOT, only from players either.

Interesting artical in TODAYS Sun, Will be interested to see the outcome of that, NOW the benchmark has been set.....................

racism shouldnt be tolerated on any sporting field, its as simple as that. if people resort to such tactics, ban them for a season and that will start to make people realise that it wont be tolerated. i think its good that the murray league is taking a stand and leading the way. i havent copped any on the sporting field up this way, but back in gippsland and melbourne it was a common occurence.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.
Things have gone very quiet guys.
Lets start the ball rolling as we come to the business end of the season.
Premiers- Cobram
Runners Up- Moama
O'Dwyer Medal- Bonghetti again
Dissapointment- Tongala

No comments on Barooga letting thier coach go on the weekend?

It is probably time that Barooga had a replacement for Wren, Wren was a fantastic player and is a good coach but its time for a new face as the leader. Shaun Robbins taking over as the new Senior coach is fantastic for the footy club. He is young, lives in the area with his young family and also started an electrical buisness over there. That shows commitment already also Robbo is a bloody good footballer, he knows allot of players from the goulburn valley area so should be able to get some new players there that arent going to cost as much as plapp and Hilton and the likes...... Great work Robbo and good luck with it all mate.:thumbsu:

Robbo is a great bloke and player but buying players costing so much only pushes local boys away so I hope he doesn't go down that path, that's how Barooga has gotten into the position its in along with other things as well I would imagine, but look at Toc they've upset all the locals and look at them they're in disarray. Maybe look after a few local blokes or x local blokes get them back together for a few years add a few handy players not superstars then try win a premiership not buy one.

2011 Premiers????

Rookie Of The Year????
Tim arnel (numurkah) Reid Crowe (Finley) Cadeyn Williams (Cobram)
Biggest Disappointment????
Barooga or Tongala
Best Achievers????
With no contracted players in the second half of the season, huge credit to numurkah. Now finishing off the season with respectable scores against the top sides.

Murray league tribuneral is a joke. 2 weeks for saying that a ball was out in frustration does not equal umpire abuse as was not abusive. On a day when 2 serious incidents were overlooked. Ridiculous.

Seems excessive......how often do you see this in the AFL, surely a free kick or yellow card would have sufficed.

Deni, all local boys come through the junior ranks at some time.
Have to agree about Numurka, great effort playing all uncontracted players, seems to have stimulated some good support too.

Yeah considering he wasn't abusing the umpire it's very excessive. Other incident is being dealt with in house at the opposing club, the other was a striking incident in the 2nds witnessed by the umpire on a 3rds player playing up a grade with no action taken. So a pretty ridiculous result all round
