Re: Murray Football League - Part 3

Thanks for that Aus footy fan. What sort of money would he be getting?? I Reckon Congupna have done that a bit over the years..It will be interesting to see what they do.. Look at the ex Gv players that they have turned over in the last few years. None of them have hung around and they are all gone into retirement from there. They had a bloke Toohey a while ago and he was one of the best i've seen. But was getting old. What ever happen to him??

Anyone got any practise matches coming up soon?

I think from memory that Terry Tuohey went back to Shepp Bears to coach the Ressies - that's where he was from. Can play that bloke!

Re: Murray Football League - Part 3

Hey Square. Hawks in and outs thus far are:
Doc, Byso both retired (but fingers crossed xxx), Rowan OC, Maso, Biggsy, Broph, Marcus AH, Dylan (overseas) are the confirmed departures.
Crappy, Hydey, Kieron Hill, Matt Hendry, James Wingate, Matt C, Dash, Ryan F are the newies. Lacking a quality ruckman so anyone who stands > 6 4 and knows how to play the game............ get in contact.
Play Wang Rovers this weekend, involved with the night series and then a game against Shep. hopefully will have us tuned for an assault on the 09 MFL premiership season!!!!! Personally I think the standard will come down a bit and it will be a pretty wide open race barring a couple. It will be a very interesting season and one full of optimistic anticipation!
I would assume that Dash Berolli will play a majority of his games with Bendigo Bombers.

Crapp and Hyde sound familiar Big H any quality amongst the others? Did you end up signing B Mills x Cobram?

Re: Murray Football League - Part 3

For those that are commenting on how the MFL will go in Div2 remember the carnival only happens every 2 years so we won't know how the league will stack up till halfway through 2010. This years interleague is against Central Murray at Toc I believe.

Yes I had also heard that, but now have strong mail that other than the GM, all the other league heavyweights want it at Toc including the coach of the side and if it wasn't to be played at Toc they may have to find another coach!

Oh okay. I thought having it at United was a good idea. It's central to both leagues, the ground is apparently is good nick, it's a good size with good facilities, and after all, two years ago when the MFL played Central Murray, the game was played at Gunbower. I would think playing the game at Tocumwal would be like the Central Murray league hosting the game at Balranald.

toquick, how is the Tocumwal ground looking at the moment? Green and lush? Is Sexton still coaching the side?

Sorry Bads, you are right on the target! Millsy is coming across as well which will be good. Have covered our running midfield type players but probably a couple of big blokes short at present, especially an A1 ruckman! Had one ex MFL star on the radar but just used us, along with a couple of other clubs, as bartering power to see who will come up with the best offer! Last I heard, he was prosituting his way around the Riverina region.

Have to agree there tucky , and the main point would be a convienient location , after all we don't want the central murray boys using a 3 1/2 hour bus trip as an excuse .

The ground is looking very very good, a majority of the squad has been training in boots for the last couple of weeks which is a good indication of how good the surface is.
