Muse New album and subsequent tour build up wank thread

My mate used to use my old monophonic phone to re-create the tunes of songs using the media player program. He went through a phase of constantly refining these songs and would brag about how accurate they were. One day I decided to have a listen to one titled Plug in baby and fell in love with it. When I found the song I was quite surprised at my mates efforts. That's how I discovered Muse lol. It's a shame the albums following Absolution have been been quite disappointing.

This album is such a grower. I've been listening to it heaps lately, and it's easily their best IMO.

Definitely agree with you on the first part. I can appreciate this album a lot more now than I did on first listen, some songs have just clicked. Don't quite agree with you on the second, not quite enough firepower to beat OOS :D

totally agree with you. when i first heard it i said to a mate it's either a total wank or a masterpiece, and being a fan since sunburn i'm glad it turned out to be the latter. easily their best cd which i thought was impossible after OOS.

Being a bit younger I hadnt ever really listened to that much of muse's stuff. Id heard of them, but never really heard their music. Within the space of 2 days I heard Uprising on the radio, and saw Knights of Cydonia and Starlight on channel V. Absolutely brilliant. I downloaded tham and a few others including plug in baby (whihc ive since learnt is on gh5),hysteria and, my favourite, time is running out.

I think they are amazing, but ive only heard a few songs. You guys have any recomendations for the best songs/albums to get me going???

Well there is possible their greatest song of all time, Citizen Erased, also a few from the Showbiz album were great. And Bliss is a great song, particularly live.

Was just knocking up a Muse playlist on iTunes, I would recommend these :)

Showbiz
Glorious
Hyper Music
Futurism
Muscle Museum
Take A Bow
Citizens Earsed
Map of a Problematique
New Born
The Small Print
I Belong to You
MK Ultra
Stockholm Syndrome + Execution Commentary

but seriously just get all their albums eventually.

Just get all their albums I agree. Don't really have a bad song, except for Undisclosed Desires IMO.

And I agree about I belong to You. That used to be my second worst song off the album, now its one of my best. I'm loving the french part now :D

Sweet thanks guys. Eventually im sure ill have all of it, becuase the six or seven ive heard so far are all top notch. Time is running out has been on replay in my head for about 3 days now!!

You might want to look up some performances from their Wembly concert a few years ago. Start with New Born, it'll cause your brain to leave your skull.
Most of these performances will be on H.A.A.R.P which is a live dvd and cd set.

1 month today and it's off to England for the O2 arena!
Yup!!

Sigh... looks like ill have to dish out 150 bucks and stand around with drunk muse posers if I want to see them this year :(

And apparently Perth tickets are selling out for the first time in ages.
