For me anything less than a 3o pt win is a backward step from last week.
Its time for our playing group to say to the football world,HERE WE COME>

Saying that with 5 or 6 players ready to come into the side oue 22 that take the field no if they dont perform bye bye to casey, barring newton i think our side on sunday are gonna come out with intent.expect Petterd,Bate,Dunn or even Newton to kick 5,our backline is nearly A grade, midfield is just starting to find form and with good delivery into our smallish forwards it could play into our hands.

People have been saying that we are a bottom 4 side this year.NO WE ARE NOT! i for 1 no the talent and exciting players to come into our side.throughout the year, that others outside melbourne dont no.
it is time we stick it up the sides like,North melbourne, carlton, essendon, port, richmond, there all no good, and in 2 years well be belting the likes of geelong, brisbane, adelaide, collingwood, wce over there.etc...

I think Newton will come out with intent if he plays I just don't know if hes good enough to perform at AFL level.

As for margin, I don't care as long as we get the win.

A win by any margin would be a good result. We should win and I'll be expecting our team to win, but I'm not expecting us to belt the Tigers. Especially as our forward line is still not functioning. I can't see us kicking a big enough score to belt any team at the moment. Until we get Watts, Jurrah, Wona and Sylvia up and firing, I can't see us kicking over 100 too many times. Bate is still not 100%, Benell isn't going to kick a bag and Newton, well, the less said about him the better. This puts pressure on Petterd and our midfield to come up with the bulk of our score. If
Richmond can shut down Petterd and cut off our midfield's scoring oportunities to a minimum, we could be in trouble. Brad Green is the key to this game. He is someone who can spend little time down forward and still kick a few goals. We should leave him in the goalsquare for the whole game. If Bate lifts and Sylvia can snag a couple early for confidence, we shouldn't have a problem. But let's not take the Tigers lightly as it will cost us 4 points...

a win of any margin will do the trick. I just don't think our forwards can destroy anyone just yet.

A bit n injury news that will further put Melbourne as clear favourites. Chris Newman is apparently out with a hammy this week.

Would be good to smash them, but it's not a must. Winning however, is a must. We've made some really good progress the last few weeks, but a lot of that could be undone with a loss to the Tigers.

It's good that we're actually talking 'we must win' and such, and not 'for Christ sake, just win one'.

The most important thing is to have a win whilst not having any complacency.

The worst thing would be the boys believing that they have the match in the bag because of all the enforced changes and poor form of the Tigers. We're not that good of a team that we can just waltz up and turn it up a gear when needed, like Geelong.

Bailey needs to remind them that in 2 matches this year, we have only scored ONE GOAL TO HALF TIME. The Richmond cheer squad has a chance to win if we dish up that tripe again.

Agreed. Don't want them coming in with the attitude Collingwood had in Round 2. Look what happened there.

Without Newman, Connors and McGuane the Tigers will have lost a great deal of their defensive unit.

It's a great opportunity for our forwards to have a day out.

Well, you wouldn't imagine the players taking the game lightly given that we've been down the bottom for so long, but you never know what a little bit of confidence can do to one's mind.

Let's hope they come out with the same determination they've demonstrated over the past two weeks.

I will take a win in any shape or form.

I agree with the posts above though, it is nice we are talking about a 'must-win game', rather than a 'competitive performance'.

I really, really, REALLY want to be 2-2 going into the Brisbane game, but at the moment I just want to win this week.

If we lose, we will be the laughing stock of the competition again.

I will also head to the Westgate.

Seriously Richmond are bad enough as it is, then factor in their suspensions..... we better not lose.

We should win. If not, my fate is much worse than your jumping off the Westgate. I have to become a Bay 13 Richmond flog for a week.

Yep, possibly the best chance they'll have all year. The key of course is to get the ball down quick through the corridore and put their defence under constant pressure and to give our forwards a chance to exploit them. If we go sideways and over hand ball then we'll be letting them off the hook. I think the midfield battle will still be interesting.

yeah, i'd take the westgate option there.
That'd be the less painful option.
Although if the Dees win, mcuzzy will be joining our ranks for a week. Should be entertaining should he go through with it.

mcuzzy is an average poster, we couldn't get anyone better than that?
thanks guys for the reply i suppose i could have used a different term or word than belt richmond, saying that i expect us to be up by 4 or so goals keep that lead and build on that into the last quarter.i want our boys to enjoy a final quarter for a change.i forgot to mention greeny down forward doesnt have 2 weeks in a row where he cant hit a barnshed from 5 metres lol.
i would pull my pood if the likes of batesy, dunny, bartram, moloney had blinders, fantastic for there confidence and i would be goin into next week with half a chub!
And its good to start a forum without being drunk for a change!

In all fairness, the top tier of Richmond supporters are smart enough to realise that we'll be too good for them.
Mcuzzy was the only one who was prepared to put his money where his mouth was. The rest of the flogs scurried off when it came to this.

i've never credited Richmond fans with much in the way of brain power (they go for richmond after all), let alone those on the bay. Do we really want to have him going around there for a week defending us or worse, trolling on our behalf???
