Since we announced that the Wellington NAFL team will no longer be called the Makos, there has been quite a bit of unrest within the NAFL community. It may just be coincidence, but just in case our announcement was the cause of this unrest, we have decided to announce the new moniker of our team as well as the next segment of our new logo.

So with out further adieu we are pleased to announce that the new name of the Wellington NAFL team is the

We believe that this new name continues the history of the team and provides a strong name to move into the future with.

The Wellington Seawolves will reveal the teams full logo in the near future, but for now remember to #jointhepack.

Aww yaaay, Seadoggos!

Nice logo, but the Australian Coat of Arms kinda ignores that the competition is played across two nations.
Yeah but in fairness who cares about New Zealand?

Nice logo, but the Australian Coat of Arms kinda ignores that the competition is played across two nations. Plus the only time the NAFLR champions will ever play the NAFL champions is in the following season if/when they are promoted.
Oh yeah, missed that
Just chucked it up for a laugh if and when the match-up happens

Can people that didn't compete last season now enter in a bid?

Nope.

Main league bidding is only open to teams from last season who were in the top flight or promoted. All other teams will need to bid in the Reserves thread when that goes up.

**** me there is a lot of pants wetting going on in this thread. Regardless I've got more time on my hands this year, so will finally be entering my team.

State: South Australia
Location: Adelaide
Nickname: Stonecutters
Colours: Blue and gold

#bleedblue

Also would like to see a Multicultural round instead of indigenous. Appreciate the thoughts of not designing considering many are not indigenous, however as a multicultural Australia I presume everyone has some sort of international heritage.

This bid will need to go into the Reserves thread when it eventually goes up.

The new logo features the "wolf of the sea" the Orca as its centrepiece. The organisation chose the Orca to represent us in this new era as it represents the facets that we believe are vital to a successful club. They are strong, intelligent, and work in teams to achieve success and we will be focusing on those elements both on and off the field. The new logo is able to be used in its full version above or in individual elements as has been seen during this unveiling period.

Also today we are unveiling the full We Are We Care logo;

We hope that this new identity will bring a new attitude and success from now and into the future.

Wellington Seawolves statement

We knew the change in name from Makos to Seawolves would cause some to feel sad about the change, but little did we know that our former namesakes would decide to try and cheer themselves up in Bondi, sadly with tragic results.

BEACHGOERS were shocked to discover a three-metre shark on the sand at Bondi early this morning.

The dead mako shark was found lying on the southern end of the popular Sydney beach.

The animal was initially discovered on the beach and reported to police about 11pm Friday night.

It is believed it had been out partying with members of the Royal Bondi Space Hogs, and may have washed back into the ocean overnight before resurfacing Saturday morning.

A surfer told Nine News he had seen the shark lying still in shallow water and “thought it was better to get him out”.

The shark was dragged by surfers and swimmers to the shore in the early hours, and has since been removed from the beach by Bondi lifeguards.

The shark will be taken out to sea and put back in the ocean.

Mako sharks are considered a “friendly” species, and are protected in Australia.

To our former namesakes, if you are feeling upset please consider talking to you friends, family, or trained professionals. We recommend that travelling to Bondi and partying with members of the Space Hogs is not the best way to deal with this change, and may lead to similar results.
