Surely SGIO need a Palm Tree Ambassador. How can the public of Western Australia possibly be informed of the plight of palm trees without one?
What?!While i'd be glad for GWS to take him, he'll never leave and I can't see the Eagles letting him go. A lot of contracts end in 2011 the clubs money issues should ease then.
What?!
At the moment you'd be made ****ing captain.I can occasionally hit the stumps with a cricket ball does that mean I should get a game for Australia?
Gee the kid has a hell of a lot to do and prove before he should even be talked as top echelon or in big money contracts.
At this present point he is just a kid with potential and that is all, he up to this point other than few brief periods in the sun has done nothing to suggest he can warrant the money people are talking about.
If it came down to we have to pay him huge money now to keep a kid with potential then I would not be worried in losing him.
Lets face it, if we lose him what have we lost today other than a kid with potential?
Its a bit like paying a golfer appearance fee when he is ranked 200th in the world, it doesn't happen. You have to become the player first not be paid on potential.
Our club seriously worries me these days.

Sheedy says GWS already have Israel Folau so they aren't targetting Naita.
Don't believe a word that man sayshttp://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/a...move-to-essendon/story-e6frf9jf-1225946045725
Sheedy says GWS already have Israel Folau so they aren't targetting Naita. They are after the big fish - Collingwood. Relief.
I don't think signing up Naitinui for a long time will be a problem. The bigger issue is that we really are struggling with the Salary Cap.
We only have 4 genuine stars who are on big contracts, although they are past their prime in Cox, Kerr, Glass, Embley...so why are we paying 100% of our SC? We are either front ending a lot of contracts for our future young guns or it is really really bad management.
The guy is a freak granted but he can't play football full stop. Having him in the team for 22+ games on the hope that just maybe he might do something doesn't make sense to me. He needs to improve his consistancy and become a solid contributor.
I keep hearing people say 'but he's still learning the game', if he's still learning the game then why the hell is he playing at the elite level??
I can occasionally hit the stumps with a cricket ball does that mean I should get a game for Australia?
1.Yes, he can clearly play football. 2. I don't think you'll find many 20 year old ruckmen in the worst team playing consistent footy for 22 weeks, with a busted shoulder. 3. I don't think he's learning the game, he knows how to play it, he is though doing an apprenticeship under Cox, and developing/improving his game by playing against the best. 4. Ahh, why are: Roughead, Mcevoy, Vickery, Goldstein, Hampson, Jacobs, Kreuzer, etc playing the game???? They are all around Nats' experience/age level and Nat is already ahead of all but one of them (on par with Kreuz). Add to that his busted shoulder, the team he is in, and his lack of fitness base.....You will struggle to find a better young ruckman than him, and you will not find a more tantalising prospect for the future for GWS.
So glad you are not involved with club. Phew
From the moment Kevin Sheedy was appointed coach - he talked about Naitanui - so it hardly comes as a surprise.
When you consider the island population of GWS and the desire to continue growing the game throughout the pacific - it's a logical step - especially considering Naita is already involved in promotion of the game with Rodan and Carlisle.
What will more than likely keep him here of course is his mum. He still lives at home and is a massive family man.
That and the fact that it won't be his last contract. If he turns into the superstar we all hope - he'll eventually be on a $1m a year here. If he was 25/26 I'd be more worried as it might be his last contract
Edit: I might add - going to GWS isn't going tobe as attractive as going to the GC.
Look at the blokes that went to GC - Ablett was the star, but he had more than just money to go for, the rest were largely blokes topping up (rightfully) their superannuation.
He can play footy?? In a pack he is rarely able to mark which a must for a big man, he has very little kicking distance and is still struggling to get his head around ruck postion as to not give away free kicks. I'm not sure why you included Kruezer in that list since i'd have him any day over Nic... and the rest I have no interest in so i'm glad they're not on our team.
Yeah he is still developing and I hope he becomes to champ but he needs to become a real 4 quarter contributor, that being said the same could be said for most of the squad.
If he had a busted shoulder why the hell was he playing he should have been rested, now they're stuck with him returning to preseason training late due to OP recovery so he may not be at full fitness for round 1.
If GWS grab him so be it, but I imagine them having eyes on bigger fish.
lol same to you regarding club involvement.
