Naitanui fails to break Croad's vertical jump record

He's only 4 cm taller then Watts and Watts smashed him in the sprint and in the agility test.

4cm shorter and with an 8cm shorter vert leap ... so NicNat will outreach him to the ball by 12cm every time... cool :thumbsu:

Nah this talk is just tripe - both player look set to be exciting to follow thier development

Hes 4cm taller but hes probably 20kg heavier to boot. Lets see Watts agility and speed when he puts on 20kg.

Actually iv'e been told Watts weighed in at 87-88kg, Wich would be about right considering he was weighed at 85-86kg earlier in the year when he was 2cm shorter. And Naitanui weighs 93kg so he is only 5-6kg heavier

And any way wouldn't him weighing more give him more momentum? Because if you look at most sprinters they are usually very solid...

Obvious exaggeration but id say it will be around 8-10kg. Its atleast 5...

The best thing about that WAFL highlights package was the fact he was playing against men and not boys like the Vic draft hopefuls do. If Natanui was playing TAC cup he would be absolutely dominating it.
He was playing in the WAFL. Not a great standard.

When Watts played in the U18 carnival WITH Naita and Rich, who won the medal for best player in comp? Refresh my memory:D

Well the WAFL is a better standard than the TAC Cup.

That said, Watts is very good.

We havent seen him play against men however.

We have seen Naita & Rich play at a high level against men.

How do you reckon Watts would have gone in the VFL this year?

The answer is you think he would have been ok, but you dont know. He looks like a private school nancy boy type ... but so did Hird.

By the way, the previous 5 Larke medallists are:

Cale Morton, Tom Hawkins, Marc Murphy, Jesse Smith, Kepler Bradley.

Hate to say but your right! Not many kids can come in and make a impact straight away ,I think this kid can:eek:

I don't think he will have a great impact in his first or even his second year in the AFL (what he will do is tackle very hard), however by the time he is 21/22 he will be proving himself as a rightful number 2/3 pick.

I expect a lot of Natanui is crap threads over the next two years.

How does he go over there in the Local comp-? playing against men will give him a lot of confidence,I think he will surprise!

Holds his own in the strength department and can leap over pretty much anyone in the comp. His tackle on Mark Seaby in the prelim final was brutal and just showed how physical he can be. Just needs to learn to read the play a bit better and not get caught ball watching. I wouldn't expect too much from him next year, probably some good highlights though!

What makes you think that? Because he wouldn't be playing against "men"? He didn't dominate the U-18 carnival so why would he dominate the TAC cup?

I don't know whether you've noticed or not but the WAFL is mostly made up of washed up former AFL players from W.A, "Grown men" who wern't good enough to make it and about 2 AFL listed players in each team.

The people who play in the U-18 carnival and TAC cup are faster, fitter, more skilled and alot more athletic than majory of the WAFL players.

How about you show Naitanui some highlights of Watts playing against "boys" and show him what a real footballer looks like......

And to Numbat06 Have you ever even seen Watts play? because he's not a private school nancy boy type, If you havn't seen him play maybe you should watch his highlights from the U-18 carnival where he goes in hard for the football and wins free kicks.

And while your at why don't you show his highlights to Naitanui so he can see what a real footballer looks like....

Way to fulfil the stereotype of the arrogant, ignorant Victorian.

Lets play the Bushrangers off against Subiaco and see how they hold up? Then we'll see how washed up the "grown men" are while they pull down the kids' nappies and give them a spanking.

I'd take the Subiaco side that Natanui played against (and Rich played for) and put them up against the TAC Cup premiers and give them 10 goals in. Subi would still win by about 10 goals.

While everyone realises that the WAFL players are either not good enough for AFL or retired (i.e. Schofield, Read, Smith etc), they are a fair way ahead of an underage comp. How many TAC Cup guns get drafted and struggle to get a kick in WAFL the first couple of years? plenty. In addition, that WAFL GF likely had 3 Top 10 picks playing, together with another 3 or 4 who will be drafted. How many were in the TAC Cup GF?

NN was the best ruckman in the Under 18's for 2 consecutive years and he has grown 4 cm since the last of them. He has a bit to learn but he has proved, against men, that he is a good player.

By the way, the WAFL players are a fair way ahead of most of the TAC Cup guys for fitness and miles ahead for strength. If you just want to spout crap then there really is no point....

The pumping up of Watts and bashing of Naitanui by Melbourne fans is already annoying the shit out of me

Theres been alot more pumping up of Naitanui by WCE supporters than MELB supporters pumping up Watts.

Mate, you are a dead set spanner.

Naitanui is the best player in this draft every club would take him at number 1.

We would still take Naita.... And Jack Watts is severley over rated on BF, There is no way he will go at number #1...

And i would just like to say that Jack Watts is very over rated on BF, And there is no chance he will go at pick #1.
