Re: Myles Krakeour - Draft Camp

Wow he must b quick,
Sure, he has the speed but does he have the skill?
Has any1 actually seen him play?
If u have post here & tell me if he is any good.

Re: Myles Krakeour - Draft Camp

I hear Steve Gaertner equalled Delido's time in the 20 metre sprint and had 77cm for vertical jump.
That was at the 16s AIS camp just before the under 18s.its not bad for a 16 yearold and he is 196cm too

I've seen him play and he does have super skills but the big worry is that he is 62kg and plays very, very, very outside.

Yep... Because nobody in history has ever put on weight.

IIRC, Aaron Davey and Danyle Pearce both weren't much heavier than that when they got drafted.

Depends on the player.

Chris Tarrant and Rhyce Shaw both went from being absolute sticks to have very strong bodies and never lost a yard of pace.

However, IIRC, James Hird bulked up once and lost quite a bit of pace.

More likely to play up with your endurance. 'Muscling' up can have a positive effect on your speed.

I suppose the thing to do is look at the difference between the physique of a sprinter and a distance runner

Sprinters generally look well muscled to me, but long distance runners are lean and mean. If he's a forward pocket he may be able to play lighter, but he'd get smashed on the ball.

Pearce was 70 kg + when he got drafted... 62 kg is just . I doubt he'll be able to put on 18kg.. He'll probably be 75kg at most.

This bloke could surprise a few and go very early.
Macca I usually have a great respect for your point of view but am completely on the other side re Kraks. I honesty believe that if his surname was Smith he would not be at draft camp.

He probably will get a guernsey but I do not think it will be high.

Fair enough. He may well slide like you are saying, but he definately has the capacity to go highly IMO. Wallace may well have fallen in love with him after his sprint time.
