Are 2 players who began life as key defenders and ended up kicking over 600 goals
A KPD may save you the occasional game a KPF can win you many
Naughton has natural forward instincts. I hope now he is allowed to develop forward
Reckon that hangar he took in the last couple of minutes against GC may have accelerated contract discussions
For the love of god someone get me a highlights package of this kids year so far. His 3rd quarter was just immense. When he can do that for a full game watch the **** out.
Moore was a really good match up for him because he can match him with mobility and has the long reach to spoil but because Naughtys not strong enough to out body him yet.
The thing is in 3 or 4 years Naughty will absolutely ragdoll the Moore types who can keep up with him and very few players who will be able to match him for size/strength will be able to get near him.
Not sure if its just cos we havent had someone like that in years but the excitement he brought to the small amount of doggies in the crowd was hugeeeNot many blokes playing AFL who can pack mark like Naughton did in the third. Was exciting.
The next Wayne Carey is Aaron Naughton. But unlike the former the kid has brains and social values.Natural footballers are often forwards. Forwards win games, backs save them. He is a natural talent.
Did they view him as a forward during his draft year as then? Was talking to Adam Simpson over the weekend and he reckons Naughton is the best young KPF in the league. Said the Eagles wanted him badly.

Not the hands of a backman:
Naughton should return to the backline. And only pinch hit in the forward line as a last resort

Except Weitering showed next to nothing as a forward and wasn't moved there for any other reason than they were desperately worried they had a flop on their hands. Relax, he will be fine.Right now there’s a danger this goes down the Weitering path (young gun key defender who can take marks so gets pushed forward, loses all confidence and has development stunted). Leave the kid in the backline to develop. Play Schache & Trengrove forward until Boyd is ready. Naughton in the backline & two key forwards in the team won’t harm our chances of winning games at all.
But if you 100% must play him forward put another ****ing talk bloke in there so he’s not solo against 2 key backs!!!
