I don't care how much it costs, I'll happily buy him 2k17, in lieu of a superior version. Thankfully he's a Pacers man, so he only really cares about Paul George.

I'll check out the basketball board! I'm hoping to get an Orlando Shaq jersey and maybe a Larry Bird.

There's a thread there all about jerseys and where to get them, that's your best bet.

I'm gonna veer slightly off topic here but what do you think is the best version of 2k on 360? My young fella has a birthday coming up and wants 2K17 but I don't know how it'll run on 360, compared to an older version. Then there's things like less micro-transactions in older games. And better career modes. What do you guys think is the definitive 2k?

Also, I'm trying to find him some jerseys, especially some older ones. I don't care if they're knock offs, I'd just like to get him a few throw backs and not spend $100's, since he just outgrows everything in a few months. Cheers!
2K11 was the best 2K I've ever played, but obviously the rosters are going to be pretty outdated. It was the only 2K where I actually became completely immersed in a franchise mode, and the MJ mode was awesome as well.

The last one I played on the old gen consoles was 2K14 which provided some fun, but wasn't as good.

So making it something that is more than just game after game and giving it a bit of life is bad?
It's the fact that they don't actually bother improving the gameplay in the mode. Couldn't remember the last time that was a focus.

It shouldn't be that hard to have a realistic mode where if you're 70 overall you're unlikely to be starting for a few seasons, you won't have keys to the offence and you won't be able to dominate. The last time I properly bothered with MyCareer I was something like 76 overall, my teammates literally did nothing but pass me the ball, I was playing something like 43 minutes a game and I was grabbing 32 rebounds every game.

Your teammates in the mode tend to be completely useless and you're forced to do everything.

Yeah, my thoughts were to get him a game from 2k11-13, good game play and modes, no VC dependence but I honestly don't think he'd care as much as just having the latest, so I think I'll just get 17. It'll probably run like shit on his 360 too, sigh.

There's no VC dependence in 2k unless you want to compete against the best online. You can still play My Player and enjoy the game without spending more money on the game (I've got every 2k game made and have never spent 1 extra cent on the game). The sole fabric of 2k basketball games is the realism for mine, no other basketball game franchise has or is close to it other then 2k. The little features that come with only enhance the experience.

I'd highly recommend getting him the new one mate. Each year 2k are bringing out new stuff, myGM mode looks pretty cool and might be something your young fella could enjoy?

What is draft mode? I watched that Chris Smoove video where he spoke about it not being in MyTeam but have no idea what it is.

Ok basic rundown:

- start off with the choice of three coaches. The aim really is to pick players that suit the coaches style the best, you can pick players that don't suit but it's better if you do.

- once you select a coach you have 15 rounds of picking players. Each round will have 3 players to choice from, usually all 3 players are in a similar position and have similar overall rating. Past and present players are used.

- after you have drafted your 15 players you're able to set your line-up.

-then you play 3 games against either AI or online and if you win those games you get some kind of special card.

Obviously with Madden you have a bigger squad so the rest of your team is filled with spuds. And with tactics and play books it's going to be a lot different compared to a NBA draft game but it's pretty fun to play. Don't know how a NBA draft mode would work but it could have potential if they had added one.

I didn't buy 2k16 but will be buying this one. What were the biggest changes I'll need to get used to in jumping straight from 2k14/15 into 2k17?

VC is easy to get with the mobile app. Really easy.

Gonna ask on a few threads but if I ordered this from JB say, this coming Saturday, would I definitely get it on release day (Friday)?
Would ******* hate to miss out and get it on the Monday.

In my experience yes you will get it friday. They get sent out the day before release and arrive on the day usually.

Thanks for the reply.
Even to WA?
That's pretty much my concern, Eastern States I wouldn't think there would be a problem.

Saw this on JB's site as well:

When will I get my order? Unless specified above, your online pre-order will leave our Vic warehouse via Australia Post one business day prior to the official release date. Please allow standard delivery times on top of this.

Ahhh WA, im not entirely sure how long it would take. If it leaves the day before theres no reason it wouldnt get to you by end of business on friday i wouldnt have thought...

Hopefully they allow multiple saves of different players? Really want to try out a few different players to decide which one I'll prefer.
