Over the past week the Adelaide 36ers have focused on supporting Kendric Davis and Montrezl Harrell, both practically and emotionally, in relation to the charges against them at Monday’s Tribunal hearing.

The Club has retained highly experienced counsel, James McLeod, to represent both players. James has extensive experience in sports law, including in relation to racially based, derogatory or offensive language issues.

The Club and the players will not make any further comment until the conclusion of this process.

When Larry Kestelman took the biggest risk of his career, the NBL was a broken brand. A decade later he reflects on the hardworking journey that has turned it into a $300m empire.

...

"The league boss confirmed he has received up to a dozen proposals and conversations for new franchises, including Geelong, Gold Coast, Canberra and second teams in Perth and Sydney. Kestelman wants to expand – with a long-term vision of four new teams in the next five years – but only if the model and timing aligns."

We know Gold Coast is going to be one of the four expansion teams over the next five years after the announcement of the new indoor arena. Something tells me a second Perth team will be prioritised due to the fact that they can use the time difference to their advantage on Friday/Saturday nights. It'll probably be Sydney2 and Canberra beyond that with Geelong being the one that misses out IMO.

The sideshow continues

That is a terrible look for the NBL. It just makes them look like they handed out punishments to gain notoriety and for advertising.

Out of curiosity, is the 'full board' Adelaide can appeal to run by the NBL or BA? If it's the NBL, there's little point in complaining, because you'd just be complaining to Melbourne about Melbourne.

If it's BA, they should 100% appeal and really question the motivation behind the sanction.
