It is only the clubs struggling for Jnrs that need to worry about mergers.
Sea Lake (already a merged side), St Arn and Boort all seem to have good jnr numbers.
Their challenge is to develop the players in to good open age players alongside a culture that they want to stay involved in, eg travel back for.
I would have thought Donald would be ok but they seem to have been light on Jnr numbers recently.
Birchip have done well with their Kids in recent years, they don't have a lot of numbers, but have been able to get their jnrs into finals.
While it has improved in the last two years, I'd like to see the league introduce something a little more rigid then the "gentleman's agreement" that currently stands. Making it a 14-16 a side comp rather then the full 18 would be very beneficial.
There was a league around here that was 16 a side for under 17’s but if both sides had plenty of numbers they could play 18
