What is going on with the NEAFL website this year. No Eastern NEAFL previews or reviews. It's like we don't exist whilst our Northern neighbours are dominating the site. It's embarrassing

There has been a bit going on in the office with Rusty Taylor's unfortunate passing and Jack Masters accepting a position with GWS so cut the boys a little bit of slack.

It would be nice however to have Round 4 Eastern Conference teams put up on the website. Its 5.45pm and there still not up.....

A bit High how are the tigers looking this year compared to last year?? Depth??

From a former team mate ;)

Tigers are looking pretty good. They have a good blend of experience and youth. As you would have noticed they have had a couple of morale building come from behind wins in the first 2 weeks then came out and smashed Eastlake so signs are very promising.

Ressies are not travelling as well as they would probably like, a fair bit of experience has left the side so some youngsters getting exposure to a senior level. Fingers crossed injuries do not occur in mass out Tigerland.

Southport over hills 115-100...from what I heard discipline cost the eagles the game with 5-6 goals resulting from 50m penalties

Eastlake beat SydUni by about 7 goals.
Eastlake just had too many big guys and monstered SydUni whenever SU had the ball, forcing handling errors. Eastlake was able to burst through tackles and find runners in space. SU seemed to be chasing chasing chasing all day. Not sure who the experts will pick as best but I thought Gibson, Stoyanoff(13), Roustone (32), Moody, Boden went ok for Eastlake and Lynch, Caspersson, Barrett for SU.
We've had some average days at Uni games but I thought their volunteers did great today - good canteen, and they provided team sheets even though there were no Records (funny that their Eastlake teamsheet was more accurate than their own !)
Well done to Uni....on the up, I reckon both onfield and off.

Queanbeyan pretty comfortably in the end. Stevens and Kavanagh dominated.
Tigers salute in Foxtel Cup qualifier

THE Queanbeyan Tigers have secured a place in round one of the Foxtel Cup after defeating the Northern Territory Thunder by 53 points in Canberra on Saturday.

The Tigers were able to overcome a fast start from the Thunder, surging to a 13.10 (88) to 4.9 (35) victory in the qualifying match.

Fine conditions at StarTrack Oval resulted in a high-pressured contest that was ultimately controlled by a disciplined Tigers outfit.

The Tigers kept the fast-paced Thunder to a single goal in the second and third quarters, returning eight majors of their own in the process.

Kaine Stevens, who last year received the Alex Jesaulenko medal for winning the club's best and fairest award, led the way for the Tigers with four goals and 18 disposals.

Tigers player-coach Kade Klemke, who spent the 2009 season on Essendon's rookie list, demonstrated leadership through his ferocious tackling and unselfish ball-use.

18 year-old small forward Ben Fulford proved difficult to contain, kicking three important goals for the Tigers, including two in the first quarter.

Skipper Toby Conroy was also busy for the Tigers, stamping his influence on the game through the midfield and around stoppages.

On a sour note, new Tigers recruit Beau Walker was stretchered off in the second quarter after sustaining a horrific ankle injury in a marking contest.

For Northern Territory, skipper Cameron Ilett was brilliant, finding the ball at will and bringing teammates into the game in a well-rounded performance.

Exciting small forward Baydon Ngalkin kicked two goals for the Thunder and was creative with his ball use.

Promising centre half-forward William Farrer demonstrated his extreme athleticism, presenting well and showing off his impressive leap.

Julian Lockwood was solid in defence, while midfielder Brad Vassal worked tirelessly throughout four quarters.

The Thunder was without former Melbourne player Austin Wonaeamirri, as well as damaging forward Darren Ewing who had kicked eight goals for the Thunder the previous Saturday.

The Tigers travel to Etihad Stadium to play Werribee in round one of the Foxtel Cup on Tuesday, May 28.
