Just on fox news Liam said that he has had no calls from any club asking about Leon, reckons he wont go anywhere just a sign a 2 yr contract..

Reckons pick 14 for Jolly will happen late in the week and more than fair offer, they also confimed that Ball has chosen the PIES and now need to do a deal

Reckons Fraser will stay?

Sounds good to me

Fraser Jolly combination is our best bet in the Ruck and would be a potent force to contend with.

Ball fills a need but price shouldnt be to great, essentially he has been forced out of St K because not a certain starter and probably offered a poor contract. This doesnt give Saints too much ground to make extravagant offers

Finally, some confirmation over Leon's "clouded" future.

Sounds very good to me. He has always been a required player in my eyes. Won't be going anywhere. He and Didak alike will flourish more with Ball's (if we get him) grunt work and clearance ability. Also allows us to play them predominantly more forward where they are extremely dangerous.

Hopefully we can do the Jolly deal too.

Would be awesome to land two big players in this trade period.

Must get both IMO.

Fev is fast becoming a lost cause.

Great news on all fronts, I can't believe how quickly people have turned on Davis, poor form for mine.
We'll sweeten our offer for Jolly I'd imagine though, they aren't in any desperate need to offload him (although someone mentioned he might hang up the boots if he isn't back in Melbourne... unlikely I'd imagine).

Absolutely ^ ^ ^

Yeah, he went missing in September and it wasn't the first time. He was playing injured I reckon. He is our second best player after Didak, how he can be so easily dismissed is astounding.

Fraser has been thrown to the wolves too. I understand you need to trade players to get players, but it's so cut throat in here with some of the posters.

Jolly and ball would make such a massive difference to us, it is almost incomprehensible.

I do not understand why anyone would want to trade out fraser or leon, Leon was all australian this year yes may have had a few bad finals has played some good ones, and Fraser is a gun in the ruck maybe not as a tap ruckman but his value around the ground is awesome would prefer him to Jolly but would like to see him and Wood in the same team more often IMO Fraser had a very good year. Would rather have a key forward come to the club and play Travis Cloke more up the field on the wing ala Richo styles for the tigers

to be honist am i the only person that thinks woods half decent and his a up and coming player?

the guy is team first and always passes the ball off eg. watch us play adelaide at aami stadium wood was a big factor into that win why not give him the chance in the ruck get rid of fraser and get fev like seriously if that happened we would be a good threat in my opinon

im with you there, woods only going to get better, how good was at jolly at 22 ?, wood showed some good signs this year IMO and we paid a fairly hefty price to get him, i rate wood well ahead of fraser, i hate that pee hearted prick, doesnt take marks around the ground, doesnt get hitouts, alls he does is get involved in link plays and i have watched him from day 1.

mate im with you on that, i think wood will be a much better tap ruckman than fraser has ever been and IF jolly comes accross then those 2 will carry the load.

having said this frasers body just cannot cope with the ruck and therefor will play a more rover like position pushing forward has played that way a lot even last yr for VIC when he hurt his knee. gives us another string to our bow.

agree with you. how dangerous will fraser be with jolly carrying the main ruck load? he can play forward a bit more and can play a role essentially as a 6 foot 6 ruck rover in much the same manner as richo has at times. people talking of trading him need to get a few clues - while not a classic crash and bash ruckman he is a very good player nonetheless. and don't forget he has never been given the chance to develop having been thrown to the wolves from the start of his career so his bodu has had alot of wear and tear. jolly fraser wood will be the most dangerous trio of ruckmen on any list in 2010

The majority here rate Wood, going after Jolly doesn't go against this, it simply proves we aren't willing to grind him to stone like we did with Fraser.

We all know how Josh has turned out after we made him the sole ruck from the age of 20, we don't want to see that happen again. Jolly will allow Wood to play as second string and nurse him into the role. Also gives us time to develop Keefe without throwing him to the sharks either.
Wood would be significantly better than virtually every second string ruckman in the league, it would be awesome having him come on and chop out Jolly... We'd virtually lose nothing in the midfield, it'd give us a huge benefit to have Wood coming on ready to bust his arse for 5-10 minute gaps rather than trying to force him to play the whole game himself.

Fraser won't be around if be get Jolly, I'd virtually say that is a certainty, Picker's was probably just not wanting to throw him to the wolves or say anything the Pies don't want as public knowledge just yet. No good selling out Josh and then having us not get Jolly, we'd look like tools.
Fraser not at the BnF is a big sign I think.

disagree, frasers days are numbered IMO, L brown pretty much played that role last year and was much better value than fraser.

Everyone's days are numbered and all death is certain.

The details are what cause confusion.

I like Fraser and I'd be giving him every opportunity to have a goos preseason and see what he can do with a full year of light rick duties, especially if we get Jolly.

Then we make our decisions.

look slow down your all gettin ahead of yourselves, fraser wasnt there as he had his knee seen to and we will not FINALLY get something that resembles ruck stocks and trade him away as if he plays the 6ft 6 rover or essentially the link up man it keeps cloke much closer to goal whilest being a proven goal kicker himself.

nar, id prefer brown as back up than fraser, frasers one of the most gutless players ive seen, gets pushed off the ball far to easy and NEVER takes contested marks, NEVER get hit outs, at least L. Brown has a go, brown doesnt play the link role fraser can but he can play forward or back, he was probably our best tall forward in the finals series IMO and theres definantly not room for fraser and brown in the same team.

Yeah she is definitely knocked up, not sure how far along she is though... It probably would explain it, but I'm still skeptical. The BnF only goes for a few hours, surely he could have remained on call and left a family member with her? I dunno.

I can't see how we'd manage with Jolly, Wood and Fraser though. Jolly obviously goes to number 1 ruck, Wood doesn't want to be playing 2's and he doesn't really deserve to which... We'll end up losing him if we don't play him consistently.
Leaves me thinking Fraser is surplus to our needs, draft another young ruckman, keep developing Keefe... Pretty set really, get something for Fraser while it's possible
