I'm not too fond of a February- March release just because the player ratings will be wrong, someone like michael Barlow wouldve been rated really low yet in real life he is a gem.
But there is also the possibility of getting updated ratings through weekly or monthly updates from Big Ant

Barlow was a mature aged rookie i think he would of been rated higher then 18 year old first year players, you would have to do research into first year players no matter their age to try and get an accurate rating for each player which i'm sure big ant would do.

yeah i think ross said they where gonna try to have player ratings fluctuate during the season based on stats.

I think he also said during season modes the player ratings fluctuate due to your performance with each player, e.g. if you have Lecca miss a couple of easy shots early in the game, it makes it harder to be accurate with him as his confidence goes down, (just as it would in real life, although Lecca is never short on confidence, border line cockiness lol)

Do you reckon they could use the afl draft camp results?

Hopefully there will be a demo released over Xbox Live & Playstation Network a couple of months before release. That way they can get feedback from the public on things that need to be tweaked before release. Would also keep fans busy until the full game gets released.

Couldn't they just put in club transfers like they have on fifa for the Gold Coast changes?
Because there are new players to add to the game and not just club to club trades/transfers.

Have had a great read on here about all of the thoughts and info provided. In the words of Bruce, "i get a bit excited when I see something like that".

Just a question:
"Will there be any "Team of the Century" games or scenarios? Would be pretty sick to play with/against Dyer, Coventry, Reynolds, Cazaly etc.

Sorry if this has been asked, but will there be Dynasty mode or anything? I don't really want to only be able to play one season and have to keep doing that. With dynasty mode, trade week, expansion clubs (optional), draft day(all 3 drafts with simulated player types, but you get to choose) and a choice of something to focus on in Pre Season would be awesome.
Be a Pro would be cool, obviously under a different name.

I had another thing in mind, but I've lost it now. Will post it when I remember :thumbsu:

gee flaps you're gonna be dissapointed
HAHAHA! thats funny as...
:thumbsu:
Yeahh.. theres no be a pro mode..
Theres no draft let alone 3..lol
Theres only one season i think.. dont quote me on that.
You can add players and do the club transfers yourself.
So its all kind of manual atm but they're gonna put it on future versions i think.
This isnt 100% reliable material but thats what ive taken out of it :)

I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion and we should have tolerance towards each opinion and crap, but seriously i feel that is a stupid comment, and the only reason i feel that way is because during and after the NAB Cup footy hype is as big as it is during finals in anticipation for the start of the season and it tends to die off after a few weeks with teams having bad starts and what have you.

Therefore i feel a release date at round 4 or 5 would not push as many sales as it would before the start of the season, before the start of a season every single football mad person out there is craving for round one to begin, best way to get a fix would be by this game being on the shelves final week of the NAB cup.

Just my opinion.

I would also like to add just quietly that i was one of those crying out for a 2010 release, but only because i want the game now, nothing to do with i think will be best for sales, (i couldn't care about the sales, just as long as i get my copy lol! :p)
a nab cup is a nab cup, i dont really take a lot of interest in it to be honest, cos the team that usually wins it chokes in home and away season anyway. Fifa 11 did not come out a fortnight before the season started, and there is so much hype on the game now that their is no interest if not more interest is growing for it. I reckon there is more anticipation for the games from round 4 and 5, then last round of NAB Cup. because there is a week spell in between nab cup and home and away season. i just dont think its worth bringing it out nab cup. Its worth the wait to the season gets underway!

Any chance of realistic trades? I don't want to be able to trade Aaron Fiora for Matthew Lloyd.
Trading (or the option to transfer players between clubs) is completely manual, so if you want to 'trade' unrealistically you can. But you don't HAVE to make trades either.

Nah I don't think i'll be disappointed. Any AFL game to play on a console has to be worth it - It's AFL. That said, I guess it's gonna be a little less interesting than it could be having only one season. Would it really be too hard to add dynasty mode?

yeahh i hinted that a couple of posts ago :):thumbsu:

Yeah I'm with you just having an AFL game is awesome..
And those additional features would be the best.
But they've said they've built this from the ground up so its already cost alotta money and taken a shit load of time im guessing..
Having no experience with video games what so ever i couldnt tell you how hard it'd be to make a dynasty mode but I'm guessing there leaving something to build on and improve for future versions and they don't wanna throw some crappy rushed dynasty into the game..
I'm only guessing though.

These are Ross' words regarding multiple seasons.

"There are multiple seasons in that your record is stored and the players individual stat's are stored from season to season.

If players retire, you can retire them. If draftees come in then you can create them (or swap them from club to club if they exist already). Stat's will be remembered from year to year (based on your gameplay).

If you just want to play the game for multiple seasons with the same players then you can. If you want to simulate what is happening in the real world then you can.

Players do get older and there is progression (or regression depending on how they've done) between seasons."

So effectively there is a dynasty mode, just no trading and drafting.:)

So pretty much you can add the players and all that to your teqam before the season then you have to play with those players for the rest of the how ever many seasons you chose to play?

From Ross' words I take it you will make changes at the beginning and end of each season.
