Although they won’t be officially revealed until Nov. 2, every NBA City Edition jersey for the 2023-24 season was leaked on social media late Sunday evening.

Even Blind Freddy could see this coming with the saturation of new annual uniforms for every team. They were mind-blowing when they first came out, then they were still pretty sweet but kind of unnecessary, then they became hit-or-miss, now they're just crap. The Denver one with the postcode? The Lakers one with the pyramid writing? Like those teams would be putting out concepts like that (which can most politely described as "strange"), if they didn't feel obliged to?

If they'd given each new instalment three years as an official team uniform until they were allowed bring another one out (10 teams bringing out new City uniforms in a year) they could have kept it going forever. Now, they probably wish they could drop it altogether, but how do you do that without admitting "We've run out of (decent) ideas?"

Surely sales on this year's sets will be a disaster? The consensus I've seen so far is Utah's is the pick of the lot, and it's just an inferior version of the late-90s Stockton and Malone era.

I'm pretty sure they're doing different jerseys for the Tournament too. Just unnecessary. Let teams wear them for 2-3 years and it actually gives the chance for the jerseys to gain a bit of an identity as far as being remembered for a longer period, then the desire for them to return in a few years returns.
