New boot????

Hi Doggie fans..

I have heard a whisper that your players, or some of them, are trialling a new boot.

With Maguire of the Saints having just gone down with a metatarsal injury I am quite interested.

Has anyone spied your guys training with them?

Young Jason A has been trialling a new boot that features a design with bigger "sweet spot", designed locally in Melbourne by an industrial designer. All a bit hush-hush, but initial reports have been positive apparently, with Aker indicating he believes it adds at least 5m to his kicking distance.

i think that is the nomis brand, they have been around for a bit though.
Don't think it has anything to do with preventing metatarsal injuries.


Tom Williams would be the one to watch if this is the case, he's the one with more metal in his foot than the terminator.

No..it is not Nomis. That has been around a while.

I heard that the it only went down there last week.

If Williams is wearing it that may be a good pointer for Goose.

williams has been wearing a different type of shoe, more of a sneaker than a boot from a glance. I think it might of been an adidas? i'll take another look next time i see him play.

If you're referring to me young man, I was just passing on what I heard through a friend who has met the industrial designer socially. I have no idea of the brand name, nor do I really care, just interested me that my team was trialling it. Next time, I won't bother passing on the info.

No..I am not trolling...The Dogs are a good team and are playing well. So no sour grapes from me.

Besides I don't think anyone has worn them ina game yet..I have been looking at the replays and have not spotted anyone with them.

I think Aka is paid to wear the Nomis boots anyway and so if he wants the $$$ he will stay with Nomis.

I remember hearing about this on SEN over summer. Melbourne Victory goalkeeper Michael Theoklitos was being interviewed and said he is involved with the design of this boot and said it would be coming out during the year...

Nope heard that it can give an extra 10m and the doggies will be the only ones to have them in the finals!! But think it will take a bit of getting used to. Pretty much rules our lack of a key CHF??

i haven't heard of the doggies trialling these boots but i can confirm they are nearly ready to go as i have seen them first hand and spoke to the guy who is involved in thier design. an ex soccer roo!! a few big names around the afl have invested in them!!!!
